XDm 5.25 comp.

I am looking at the XDm 5.25 comp in 9mm.



I chose this gun because of the price range and I like my cousins GLOCK 17L, but I just don't like GLOCK'S.



Anyone have or shot the XDm comp series? Any other suggestions? Remember I have a cap of $700.

Since no one has replied in almost 24 hrs, I'll jump in to say that my 4.5 XDm is one fine pistol, in my opinion. I've probably got more rounds through the XDm than any of my other pistols and I've never experienced any type of failure. It's just goes bang evry time. I've added fiber optics to mine so it's similar to the 5.25, just a little shorter. I wouldn't hesitate to get one.

I've only put a couple of mags through a XDm 5.25, but it left a very good impression on me.

I liked the trigger better that the stock XD Tactical and lessor XDms I've handled and it was a very nice feeling gun. You can really see the input Leatham had in designing this for Production/SSP classes

I just received mine last week for $730 shipped. I have not shot it, so take my insight for what it is worth. The fit and finish is great, the 3 magazines that come with it are a plus, the pancake holster is of good quality, as is the magazine pouch. I have two other XD pistols, an XDsc 9mm and the XDs. The slide is shaped somewhat differently than a standard XD as it tapers off a bit at the top. Ergonomically, the gun feels well balanced. No reason to suspect that it will perform any less than my other XD pistols. good luck finding one.

I have a 5.25 and 3.8 XDM in 9mm. The long sight radius of the comp model is great, so is the high visibility front sight. Trigger is the same as the compact, somewhat disappointing for a "match" trigger, but very nice. You'll be surprised at how quick shooting the gun is. The gun is lighter than you would expect for its size. As far as accuracy, both guns are great and probably more accurate than I. The long radius of the comp obviously makes for a better sight radius and therefore better "accuracy". Again I emphasize that both guns are probably more accurate than me. I like them both, the 5.25 has the right proportions and feels better than the compact, but if I had to have one, I think I'd take the compact as it has more practical uses than being primarily a target/range gun like the 5.25. That said, I have heard of people CCW the 5.25. Finally I paid exactly 7 bills for mine. Hope this helps.

My wife shoots an XDm 5.25 in action pistol. The trigger has been worked on by Springer Precision and it is nearly as good as my custom 1911's. The gun works all the time unless she biffs a magazine change. In the past year, she's put about 5K rounds through it. I rarely shoot it as it's her gun, however when I have, I've found that is points naturally for me and I'm as accurate with it as I am with my 1911's.

It's a nice pistol. Works reliably, is accurate - just large. It's a range gun and not a concealed carry pistol if that is a concern.

something to consider......it comes with 3 "high capacity" magazines. Springfield advertises this as a promotion of sorts that will be discontinued. Given the political drama over high capacity and the fact that Springfield may eventually offer it with only two magazines, it's another plus for picking one up sooner than later. I have seen a bit of price creep on them as well in the last two weeks with most dealers online hovering around the $800 mark.

I have a 9mm XDm 5.25, it's a very good shooting pistol, it seems a bit more accurate than my older 9mm XD Tactical, although I have to say I don't find the trigger to really be any better.
