I have a XDM 4.5 9mm. And I just purchased a XDM 3.8 9mm. I couldn't help but notice that the frames are exactly the same, so I was wondering can you interchange the slides?
XDM question.

It seems like if they'll fit, they should go on as easily as the slide that came with it. You shouldn't have to get to the point of potentially breaking something in order to find out. Right?
I'm pretty sure they'll work. This is the step in the XDm evolution where they changed the slide, but were too lazy to change the frame (my guess, anyway). Also, I believe the XDm compact (3.8" with the shorter grip) uses the same basic frame, just a shorter grip, so I see no reason why you can't put the 4.5" slide/barrel on the compact frame, should you want short grip, long barrel.
