I was at my LGS today and saw a deal that I just couldn't pass up.

A month or so ago, I purchased a XDm .45 4.5 and I love it. Great ergos and very accurate. Since then, I have been considering replacing my XD-9 with a XDm 9.

Well today, I found a like new, used XDm 9 3.8 with the full size grip, eight 19 round mags, and a Crimson Trace Laserguard with green laser for $700!

The gun alone new sells for $600-$640, the green Laserguard is $300, and the 6 spare mags were probably $30-$35 a piece.

The XDm 3.8 with full size grip is similar in size to my XD-9, but feels better in the hand.

So, I traded in my XD-9 towards the XDm 9, and will be picking it up on January 12th. I put it on layaway for now because of the holidays and buying presents and all of that.

Once I pick it up, I will post pics and a range report.

Sounds like a heck off a deal can I ask after the trade roughly what your going to pay

An Xdm9 5.25 lives next to the bed. 20rds of 9mm is something to reckon with.

Sounds like a great deal that would be hard to pass up, even at this time of year.

Yeah, I paid $350 for the XD-9 at another gun store awhile back, and I got $410 trade in on it. So overall, it will be about a $300 difference between the two.

With all of the extras I'm getting with the XDm 3.8 9mm, $300 was totally worth it. The CT Laserguard with the green laser is $300 by itself. Plus $200 or so in extra magazines.

I keep a XDm .45 4.5, with a Streamlight TLR-1s in my nightstand, with 14 rounds of .45 for HD. I like my XDm .45 so much that I was looking to upgrade my XD-9 to a XDm 9. Shortly after that I found this deal.

I went down and picked up the XDm today. I will be going out either tomorrow or Tuesday and shoot 200 rounds through it.

I have a set of Meprolight night sights for it and will be sending the slide off to have them installed. I also have a Talon grip ordered up for it.

I can't believe what a deal I got on this package. When I went in to pick it up today, they also had a coupon for $25 off $100 or more purchase. So, I ended up getting all of it for $675 + tax.

Took all three out today to the range. The XDm 3.8 9mm ran flawlessly through 200 rounds of Herter's Select brass case 115gr. I used all 8 mags to make sure they all functioned well. Recoil was very mild in this gun, which was nice as well.

Overall, the accuracy is great, but not as good as with my XDm .45 4.5. That is to be expected though with the shorter slide/sight radius. It produced 2"-2.5" groups at 10 yards, which is perfectly acceptable. The green laser was interesting. I have never owned a green laser before, and the dot is much easier to pick up on target. I sighted it in as well.

I will be sending the slide off next week to have a set of Meprolights installed on it.
