XDmc vs Taurus 740

I currently have an XDm 3.8" in .40 S&W. I have been carrying it at home, but the longer grip seems to always print. I have been looking at both the XDmc and the Taurus 740 as a carry gun.
I have held the 740 and it fits my hand surprisingly well for such a small grip. I have never held an XDmc, but I like the idea of having the same functionality as my full size XDm.
I don't know a lot about the safety features on the 740, but I do like the external safety for a carry gun.
I would feel completely comfortable leaving a round in the chamber of the XDm, but I am not sure about the 740.
What do you guys think about these two?

I've owned two Taurus and both were problems. There are a lot of people with Taurus that are buying new and immediately sending them for warranty work. For almost 400 dollars you can find a kahr or something that would be more reliable.

I have a 709, which is the same thing as the 740, but in 9mm. Mine has functioned flawlessly since day 1. With the trigger safety and firing pin block, it is safe to carry with a round in the chamber.
