How accurate are they? I saw the new sale flyer and they are $37.99 for 500. Add standard $5 shipping and the bullets are at your door for around $45 which is about as cheap as it gets for that caliber.
Are they a 2-3" round (at 100rds) or worse?
I was planning to use hornady fmj or so for $50 per 500 from powder valley, but xtreme are significantly cheaper, is there a performance difference between the two fmj brands. I understand the hornady sp are a bit better

I have not tried any yet myself. The other X-Treme products are all great as long as you adhere to the max velocity specs as I have experienced myself. I also was waiting for someone else to try them and report. I suspect they will be good for low VEL blasting ammo but the accuracy is the question.

I believe the .224 are fmj and not plated, meaning they can be pushed to normal .223 velocity, I plan to load for an ar15.

Yes, they are jacketed. I have 500 but have not yet shot any. They look fine. Time will tell how they shoot. 2" to 3" is a reasonable expectation I would think.

lol, I too have about 300-400 of these in reserve and have yet to shoot them.
Wonder how accurate they are, and if they're any good at busting up water jugs

I have some. Shoot fine to me, although I lack the experience to give much of an in depth review. I cant imagine they could be much worse than the 50$ for 500 Hornady ones...not that those are bad but theyre about the cheapest thing Ive seen from Hornady. They remind me of some cheapish PPUs that I got from PowderValley.

I have loaded and shot both and have not been able to notice a significant difference. They are both plinking bullets but give respectable accuracy IMO. I might give a slight edge to the Hornadys, but I would order the x-tremes when they go on sale.

i recently loaded some and really like them. good accuracy but again it wasn't any bench rest I was doing.

I have shot 10,000 plus XTreme .55gr FMJ in the last year. I can easily hold 2" groups at 100yrds with my AR's with 3MOA red dots. I haven't shot any out of a scoped rifle yet. Most of my shooting is tactical training, and 3Gun/Tactical rifle matches. I have 6,000 setting on my bench that I will start loading this weekend. For me they perform the same as Hornady .55gr.

Worked up this load a few years back with Xtreme .224 fmj's H335 using a 20" AR @100 yds 1" squares.

25g H335 is now my "go to" load for these bullets.
