I was polishing the rims on my car and noticed that my left leg was dead under the front wheel. What if…………THE CAR RAN ME OVER!!!!:what:

Here we have an animate object that kills a large number of humans on a daily basis…….. and I am not only in close proximity to it, I am in a defenseless position!! :uhoh:

(see where I am going with this?) :D

Just because I
• Placed the car in PARK
• Engaged the emergency(parking) brake
• Turned the wheels up-hill
• Removed the keys from the ignition

DOESN’T mean that it won’t just, just, just……RUN OVER MY LEG!!

I’ve been thinking of the other posts about fear of inanimate objects and it came to mind.

Just thought I would use this sometime, as most people have a car…..it would make a good analogy.

I often use the car analogy

when talking to people who are "afraid" of guns...How many people die EVERY DAY, as a reult of automobile accidents?

yes when people cry about guns i ask them if they drive a car. then when they say yes i say you better stop because they kill people every day. at that point they are pissed and dont talk to me. and i dont mind them not talking to me.

You should put something down to block the tires at least.

I have no problem with taking prudent precautions for safety, but I don't think the gov has any business legislating it.

When I polish the wheels (rims, [insert favorite name here]), I sit on one of those little "Step 2" yard/garden rollabout things. No parts of me are under the car.

Here is a pic, copied from Step 2 website...

(NO, that is NOT Mrs. Foggy on the cart)

Step 2 calls it the "Garden Hopper"

Is that Garden Hopper registered? Looks inexpensive and pretty easy to conceal. Do we really want people driving those things without a license? :neener:
