I would take my Marlin 1894c and my S&W 586. This pic shows pre chop job. I have ground off the lug to a half lug configuration.

I would think very hard about a GI 1911a1 and a Shorty lightweight M-16

Handgun: BHP, for pretty much the same reasons as Wildalaska. This is my favorite handgun.

Rifle: Harder choice. I would probably take an M1 Garand, USGI rebuilt by one of the better Garand-smiths.

SIG P220ST .45, thin enough to carry and if you can't get it done with 9 rounds of .45 chances are you best be running to get the above AR15.

My choices are

6" .357/.38 revolver. You can take pretty serious game, 2 legged critters and with 38 slow wadcutters, you can even take small game without destroying too much meat. My centerfire would be a 30'06, which can also shoot .224's out of sabots, giving a wide range of sniping to fairly big game kills.

I too will hold on the BHP ... but it's a tough choice.

For rifle ... ideally it'll be the L1A1 ..... but there are ammo considerations so am wondering if the AK might not be the wiser (if shorter range) choice.
