The government has decided you can only have 2 tactical guns (tactical as in self defense oriented weapons, aka not hunting [this situation is of course only theoretical]), what would you choose and why? You can also have as much ammo as you could ever possibly want. :D

I choose a Browning hi-power .40 or sig p226 .40 (because the hi-power is small enough for comfortable concealed carry and also a good choice for a full size) and a 6.8 spc m4 piston gun (if not that than an ak-47).

While this scenario may not be realistic I could have asked whats your favorite rifle and pistol and a million other made up scenarios/preference based questions-I'm just looking for your favorite guns that would fit this type of situation.

haha- yeah another one of these. Obviously they're pretty interesting or else they wouldn't keep popping up. I'm interested in what others' favor as far as this genre of weaponry is concerned.

And AK cheated!!! lol

Thanks for playing I know it's stupid and no one would comply (at least not a lot of people here)

Self defense? For a handgun, probably Old Slabsides. They work. For a rifle? A magazine-fed semi-auto. It doesn't matter if it's an AR, a Mini or an AK. They all work about the same.

"Old Slabsides" would be an M1911/1911A1 in .45 ACP.

S&W Model 13 three inch round butt in .357 Magnum and a Series 581 Ruger Mini-14 in .223 Rem/5.56x45mm NATO.

ECS

CZ-75 and an AK-47.

The term "Old Slabsides" is new to me: thanks for the intro. I do wonder what on earth it refers to? The "height" of the slide maybe?

Cheers,
DFW1911

the term old slabsides originated from the 1911 (before the 1911A1). however, the 1911A1 is referred to as old slabside as well.

take off the grips, and the sides of the 1911 are essentially flat slabs of metal.

If your scenario were true, all of my guns would be used for hunting.

Me too...Also, can someone please define "tactical", "self-defense oriented" and how these guns are different from hunting guns. No, I don't kinda already know what these terms mean.

Taking a shot in the dark here, but I would imagine because it looks like two slabs of wood on the sides i.e. the grips.
