Having owned 5 CZ models, and never had a jam with any of them, they get my vote for reliability:) Nothing wrong with the M&Ps, but the first one I picked up and pointed at the gun store wall, pointed high for me like a Glock.

I have and carry both on occassion. The CZ(I have several) "feels" better, handles well and is very accurate. The M&P is a bit clunky feeling. And a little less accurate for me. I have had a problem a time or 2 with the mag release button getting depressed while carrying when I first started(I carry left handed). The M&P is a lttle easier to carry and conceal for me but not by a whole lot.

IF CZ was smart, and offered the P01 with a manual safety - no question on the CZ P01 - fairly slim, nice grip, etc. (PCR is better here). However, I think most folks UNDERESTIMATE the training required to go DA/SA. Having that first pull being LOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG, is tough - albeit a little better for the half cock of the P01.

MP has a consistent, decent, short, combat pull for all shots. So... it is what you want - you have to nkow what you want.

The finish is more durable on the MP, and the compact is a little more concealable.

I voted for the CZ simply because I own and have owned a lot of them. I like a gun with an external hammer. It's just my personal preference. I've never shot a striker fired gun that had a trigger I could live with. Again, just my personal preference. My PCR has ate everything I've fed it (including 124gr Gold Dots) right out of the box and never failed in about 5,000 rnds. Can't say anything bad about the M&P. Never owned one and have only shot a few rounds thru one.

Have both and love them both. No problems with either of them. M&P is a bit easier to conceal but the P 01 has a better grip and a beavertail. It seems to be my favorite child.

5 years with the CZ P-01

Having carried and shot the CZ P-01 for 5 years now. I own 3 of them, Never have had a Malfunction, they eat everything and a superb balance in size/weight for CC. Just get a good holster like the Blade-tech IWB and spare magazine kydex holder/pouch, which is very important in carrying a firearm. And a well made belt designed for supporting the weight of your rig.
Personally a few ounces of metal is worth it, having had a plastic gun split down the side from a over charged "gun show reload" mishap 7 years ago that rendered the weapon use less. Which started my policy of never shooting reloads, never using a polymer frame and always having eye/ear/hand protection. In my opinion a all metal gun is a good idea, metal will not dissolve from chemicals such as bug spray, melt/soften from heat of being in a trunk during the summer and can be refinished to lengthen its service life.
The P-01 is my choice, good luck.
