You know what they should make? A folding .22 semiauto like Kel-Tec SUB

Well comparing the same length barrel 10/22 ( http://www.ruger-firearms.com/Firear...iew?model=1168 ) to the SU-22 ( http://www.kel-tec-cnc.com/images/do...newfor2008.jpg ) the 10/22 weighs 1/2 lb more and they are both the same length. I would say the SU22 is more efficient when it comes to weight.

If you weighed a 16" barreled 10/22 with a synthetic stock, the weights would probably come out almost identical. Currently Ruger only shows 18" barrels on their synthetic stocked models.

Yeah, but the Ruger still doesn't fold. Even the folding stock Ruger is quite a bit longer than a folded SU16, due to the extra length of the Ruger reciever which doesn't fold.

Given that this gun weighs 3.25 lb. and comes with the case, I'd just get one of these. They're not expensive, and they're nice and rust-resistant. I don't find it very probable that I'd lose half the gun if I used the included case, and I wouldn't put a folded gun in a backpack without padding anyway.

All of that said, the Marlin 39 TDS (16" lever takedown in .22S/L/LR) should be reintroduced in stainless and laminate to match the new XLR series. I'd take that over all of the above, if only for the reliability and ammo compatibility.
