You think we'll ever see a 1911 Glock?

OK, me a friend were talking today about my 1911 and we started talking about how so many companies are amking them and their resurgence in the wolrd market. SigSaur produced a 1911, S&W have theie own 1911, Taurus has a 1911, not to mention all the other companies that pretty much specifically build 1911 framed firearms. Nearly everyone has one in their catalogue except....Glock.

So, all you Glock folks out there, let's hear it from you, and a few out there who don't.

I'm not a Glocker, they just never fit right inmy hand. I still think they're pretty good firearms, just not my cup of tea.

I can't see it happening. If they were to, I would hope they would be better than SIG's interpretation. :barf:

I would not mind seeing a Glock, about the same size as the 19, in a single-stack (with accompanying slender grip) .45 (ACP, not GAP) with a seven- or eight-round magazine, however.

Glock has ,45 GAP, and you're asking if they'll rip off the a copy of the classic pistol in .45 ACP?

Not in our lifetimes. They decided to invent their own round to not admit that the 1911 works better for some applications and in some user's hands. What would you think is easier--inventing a new cartridge to get around using another company's design, or rip the design off like every other company around?

Good Lord I truly hope not.
I think the Government Model has been "improved" enough already. I cannot imagine what Glock would do to to improve it.

I can see it now. A basic 1911-shape with a polymer frame, boxy slide, and panelless grip. Or a Glock with the opposite features. Freaky.

I think we'd sooner see a Remington 1911...wait a minute, that's already been done years ago. But if they started making handguns again, I bet it would be a 1911 in mossy oak.

I'd like to see a Magnum Research 1911 in .45 Win Mag and .50 AE. They could call it the Desert Falcon, get it into some movies, and fanboys will snatch them up.

Beretta 1911--distinctive cut-away slide and extended barrel. (How much longer until the 1911 is considered "old west" and becomes the new Stampede or Bisley?)

Ruger 1911--complete with loaded chamber indicator and magazine safety.

Kel-Tec 1911--good for 3,000 rounds before replacement.

HK 1911--three times the cost, three times the suck, three times the hate.
