Your advice on concealed carry....

OH, since the 9mm is not a choice ,

I would go with the 5 shot 38 special snubby with +P loads if available.

I would also recomend the Glock 25.

I was also wondering if it would be legal for you to use the Federal Expanding Full Metal Jacket rounds?

Can you use 9x21 ? I know that some european countries offer the 9x21 to its citizens due to the restriction on using military calibers.

The snub nose might be the way to go if it's comfortable for you to carry. A gun will do you little good if you don't have it when you need it. The .38 spl +P is a very strong round and a revolver makes a powerful statement.

I agree with Shockwave, in addition to your Makarov a snub nose revolver would give you another "smaller" option for concealed carry, than a larger Glock or revolver would.

You might be more willing to carry a smaller gun, every day. You could get a pocket holster for a snubnose revolver, if you are looking for a more comfortable concealment position.

Good Luck!

When protecting my life in unknown situations with unknown obstacles, etc. What I mean is away from my home, and out in public. I will only rely on a revolver. Period. Be it a .22, .32 H&R Mag, .38 SPL, .357 Mag, .44 Mag. Doesn't matter, I go with a revolver.

My EDC is a .32 H&R Mag. Why? Reliable. Has plenty of power to protect my life, and is light enough in a small frame revolver that I will carry it. It gets to be 100 degrees F with 100% humidity here. Carrying a large frame auto is not for me. I would take it off as uncomfortable as I would be.
Small frame revolver is in the front pocket. I also want to illuminate a safety switch or slide, failure to feed, or stove pipe situation when I need my gun.

You people keep telling him to buy a 9mm Luger but he told you he can't buy that caliber where he lives by law. He is limited to "non-military" calibers that's why he mentioned the .380 Auto and .38 Special.

If it were me I would (and do) carry a .38 Special snub-nose revolver. For ammo you can buy a 158gr SWC which will do a good job at self-defense. The SWC is a good hunting round so it really doesn't matter what you're hunting, lol...

I was referring to the frame of the glock as being comfortable and using my 9mm as a reference. In other words, I'd go with the Glock:neener:

Carry the pistol that you are most accurate with, that you practice the best with, and that you can most easily obtain ammunition for on a regular basis. As a sidenote: There's nothing at all wrong with the .380 ACP round.

Hi,

I live in a place where I can own all the guns I can afford of any caliber, and my safe has a few, including high capacity autos.

What do I carry as my "always" concealed carry gun? The only one I've ever found that I can virtually ALWAYS carry on me. I've found larger guns limit you to where you can't ALWAYS have it handy. Trouble comes suddenly, and you might not have the bigger gun on you.

Thus, my "always" gun, which is in my front pocket as I speak, is a S&W "Airweight" .38 Special snubbie in a simple pocket holster. I can literally "toss" it in the pocket and head out the door and no one ever notices it since the non-blocky look of a small revolver truly hides the imprint of the gun!

Most trouble arrives like a bolt of lightning . . . and departs just as fast. Here in the states the average gunfight lasts about three rounds! BOTH the bad guy AND the good guy have no intention of standing still and getting shot, and the bad guy knows the noise is going to bring attention to himself.

Don't get me wrong, when I can I'll carry a much larger and higher capacity firearm . . . usually a .45, but most times I can't get away with that large a gun, even in a good concealment belt holster.

Even if I am carry a bigger gun, the .38 snubbie still goes along in my pocket. Heck, it only weights about 15oz. empty and the five cartridges don't add a lot of weight like a big, double-stack magazine full of ammo.

Yep . . . I'm BEST armed . . . when I'm ALWAYS armed. You will be too.

Good luck!

PS: Here's a photo of my little snubbie and its cheap Uncle Mike's #3 pocket holster. It protects the finish of the gun better than leather and I just replace it every year or so once it wears enough (the HOLSTER that is).
