Gun: ltd edition SW1911. It came with traditional recoil guide+plug vs full-length rod. Also came with grips seen in photo, and wearing a sweet polished-stainless finish.
Caliber: .45acp
Modifications: added stainless grip-screws, original were 'black oxide' and rusted way too quickly
Added a forged-steel slide-stop, as the MIM slide stop broke on me before I had even reached 500 rounds! Now I'm at 3000 with no further issues
Also after much testing and practice at the range with and without, I've chosen to carry it with a recoil-buffer-ring installed around the guide-rod. Takes the 'edge' off the recoil, and may or may not spare the gun some wear n' tear.
Sights: Novak three-white-dot that came stock
Laser (if applicable): Newp, not I
Ammo:Hornady 230 grain XTP .45acp +P JHPs
Holster: IWB made by THR user 'Savetheclaypigeons.' Got it for a GREAT deal, like too good to be true, only that was months ago and I have no complaints!
Awesome holster, worth every penny and then some. (seen in photo)
Belt (if applicable): This is where I've seen some folks 'not quite get it.' A good belt makes all the difference in the world! I am now wearing a Desantis belt with the S&W logo printed into it, that I purchased from the S&W online store. I've been wearing it for several months and I love it! It's very sturdy, and also comfortable, holds my 5" steel 1911 and holster with no issues. The sturdiness means no sagging, which takes most of the 'felt' weight out of the equation. With this combination of belt and holster, carrying is not a pain in the anything
Miscellaneous: In the winter time, I carry my extra mags in my jacket pockets, and if I take my jacket off I put one 10-rounder (Chip McCormick power mag, same but 8 rounder is in the gun) in my left pants pocket. I'm a righty, and don't want to change my grip to grab a spare mag! I usually have two 8 round mags in my left jacket pocket, and two ten round mags in my inside right-side jacket pocket, much easier to grab with left hand than left-side inside-pocket.
I practice drawing from holster and firing every time I go shooting.
here's a photo I just snapped for this thread (feel special now) of my holster, belt and gun combo:
