On a real level, any sound of proper functioning (i.e. not silence or "click") is fine.
I find the sound of working the bolt on an old military rifle like a mosin or a SMLE is phenominally relaxing. Sometimes i will just take out my guns and work the actions for several minutes.
Nothing wrong with any of those but I have a special soft spot for the "klatch-whooshboom" of my .50 cal flintlock. Followed by the wonderful aroma of real blackpowder.
I'm wondering if the sound for the title sequence on A Few Good Men was altered at all. Those marines flipping around those rifles sounded pretty darn neat.
Gee, well the sound of the bolt slammin home, the bullet firing, the sound of te bullethitting it's mark, the ech of the shot, and the sweet sound of brass hitting the ground.
