Your Favorite Gun Noises

The Cortez Kid has it. The 4 clicks of a smooth old model single action. Then of course the "boom!"

i agree with Gau 8

also.

1911 slide into battery
Mosin nagant bolt
K31 bolt
and
AK47 magazine insert + bolt rack

My all time favorite is a conical from a black powder gun whizzing downrange

hb

The riiping wiz of an MG42.
The ping of the garand clip.
The snick of a 1911 safety.
The classic pump shotgun being racked.
The click, click, clack, clunk of an old model ruger SA.
The sprong of the ARs recoil spring.
The sound of an AK cycling.
The flat boom of a 50 BMG.
THe whump of a 40mm launcher.

I like the subtle sound of a break action shotgun being slammed closed.

I've always enjoyed the sound of a 629 hammer being cocked. That, and the way my 2" SP101 sounds when loaded up with .357. :D

Garand going into battery, then the ping.
The decocker on my Sig.
My favorite had to be the car alarm that kept going off every shot for two full mags of my Mosin 38. The owner finally turned it off after 10 rds.

Working the action on a pump shotgun......

The sound of an AK safety coming off.......

The sound of command detonated claymore.....

The sound of Rockeye cluster bombs hitting.......

Small naval cannon, 500 gr. black powder -- smoke is nice too, along with the smell.

The hollow "whooomp" of a Four Deuce mortar -- Not mine, but then again taxpayer bought and paid for, so it IS mine, eh?

The "Click-thump" of shooting CCI CB Longs or Aprilla Super Colibri in my H&R single-shot break action .22, quieter than a suppressed .22, and the CCI's are accurate out to 25 yards, Super Colibris are horribly inaccurate and after I use up the remaining 40 or so, I will not be repurchasing them, they can't even breach a soda bottle at 15 yards for Og's sake!, but they are dead quiet in the H&R

The KER-CHUNK! of my Mossberg 500's pump action chambering a round

The precise "Klikkety-clak" sound of racking the slide on my Taurus PT-99 AF to chamber a round from the hammer-down position

The poweful KA-BLAM! and shockwave from my Glock 21 as it hammers a 230 grain projectile downrange, through the paper target, through the plywood backstop with a shower of plywood shrapnel, and finally coming to rest deep in the colossal earthen berm at the end of the pistol range in a shower of sand and dirt

I always liked the quiet thump of a 40mm grenade launcher. I got to fire the automatic version (can't remember the designator Mk 19 I think) off the side of the carrier I was deployed on while in the Navy. That and the loud buzz of the Phalanx 20mm CIWS, like a chainsaw from hell.

I love the sound of the the bolt closing on my new sks! And for some reason I enjoy the sound of the magazine snapping back in place.

I love the crack of a .22.

Don't know why, I've shot as a ton of big stuff, but the crack of a .22 always gets me.

There's nothing like a silenced 30-06.... *tick* sssSSSSSSS BOOOOM!

Sounds like a .22lr.... from downrange. On the bench, you hear the tick of the hammer, and the SSSSSSSSS of the silencer. It's... odd. :D
