My first was a Glock 22, purchased used w/one standard capacity magazine at a gun show in St. Paul, MN, about three years and three months ago.
I'd wanted to own a gun for a long time, wanted to get my CCW permit, wanted to learn to shoot a handgun. However, the real reason I selected a
.40 Glock was kind of esoteric.
I had written a mystery novel in which my Private Investigator character carried a Glock in .40, and I wanted one of my own so I could learn how it handled, what it was like to shoot it, etc.
Now I own about a dozen guns, with no sign of things slowing down.
