Your Last Revolver?

I really don't like this game. I still need one more revolver. I guess if you want the one that's me, it'd be the one with the most sweat in it. My Ruger Redhawk that I've cut down to 4" and done a round butt conversion.

You ask hard questions!

I guess is I could only keep one, it'd be my S&W 10-5.
When shooting it, it feels like an extension of my arm.

I couldnt imagine getting rid of any either, but just for play I'd keep the Colt King Cobra and the Ruger 2-3/4" Security Six.

This game was more fun when we were talking about autos. I can't even think of the first revolver I would be willing to part with.

Silly as it is, being ACP and all - gotta be one of my 1917's for appeal.

For real world - I'm thinkin' the King Cobra.

I could get rid of them all and keep my first, a 6" bright King Cobra. After 20+ years and a few nice additions, it is still the gun I shoot the most.

Isn't this strange. I have 5 pythons, more old Smith's than that, and plenty of older Colt's too. But I'm with the guys who list the Security Six. Now why is that? I have a stainless, 4" model that I bought for $150 ten years ago. I'm not selling it.

I've also got some goodies, including NIB Pythons and other NIB classics...I wouldn't keep one of them and would keep the one that has had more rounds stuffed thru her than all the rest totaled together.

Not counting future purchases, I'll probably hang on to the 5-1/2" .45 Colt Redhawk the longest. I imagine I'll be "getting rid" of the others by giving them to my sons as time goes on.

I have been thinking about this again and there are many more revolvers I want to hold on to, besides that Korth.

Hey, I'd rather sell some of my Feinwerkbau airrifles, then the Rugers and the Python but my Smith's stay!

P.S.

I like that SRH and rather get rid of a 629.

It would be two. My colt lawman mkIII snubby and my ruger security six 2 3/4 SS. Why if I need parts

This is like asking me to rip my own heart out...

My short list would include my S&W 65, S&W Pro-60, and S&W 640 (.38 only).

But the one that always makes the final cut seems to be my S&W 63 .22 kit gun (old 6-shot model with 4" barrel). I bought this gun used in 1981, and it still shoots as straight and solid as the day the previous owner bought it...

.

My S&W 63-4 was the last revolver I got rid of. All I own now are autos.

Guys, I know how hard this is, but imagine yourself 20-30-40 years from now and slowing down. Imagine having someone DRIVING you to the range from the rest home.:eek::mad::(:D

Why no love for the snub nosed 38?

I bet 90% of you guys own, carry and would not consider selling your favorite snub nosed 38. At least for the concealed carry/LEO crowd the vast majority carry semi-autos as primary and often back-up weapons. But nearly all of us have a snubby that is "the gun we carry when we are not carrying a gun". For me that is an S&W 642 loaded with Speer 135 gr JHPs developed for NYPD.

It would be like selling the spare tire off my car, totally counter-intuitive.

Your thoughts?

Well, oldrevolverguy, you may have noticed my response was a total refusal to play. Why would I get rid of them?

Every day, I carry a 642. It's like part of my leg, riding around in my pocket.

My Single Six is lots of fun, and is a better gun than the single action my dad taught me to shoot on (which HE still has). I can shoot it all day long, and not affect my budget.

My Mod. 13-3 .357 is the most perfect CC/hiking and hunting backup/combat revolver I can imagine. Compact, powerful, accurate, slick action, and beautiful.

The old retired PD 1930 M&P has eighty years and counting of shooting under its belt. Can't wait to teach grandkids the finer points of sixgunning with it.

I reload for the .38s and the .357. I also have a non-functional 1870 Hollis revolver from London, that I bought in Kabul years ago.

All of these will be inherited, not gotten rid of.

My daughter currently has no interest, so I imagine that someday my grandchildren will fight over my revolvers, all of them.

Guess that answers the question.
