Your pick, hammer or hammer less?

both, have both like both. the hammer fired ones have a cool factor the striker fired ones don't. being able to see the mechanics of it, to me I like it, but - don't really miss the exposed hammer too much on ones that don't so, either or, but - I'll always have a few with exposed hammers for sure.

Hammer. In single action, hammers usually seem to have a more crisp trigger. There are some Walthers and HKs that have very crisp striker triggers though.

Most of my carry pistols are striker-fired. Most of my full-size pistols are hammer-fired. I prefer the aesthetics and shooting experience of hammer-fired guns, and I can generally eek out more accuracy (with SA or DA/SA guns). But my Glocks are reliable, predictable, consistent.

All my best shooting guns have hammers, though I am comfortable with striker fired guns also.

My VP9 has a very nice trigger for a striker fired gun. Honestly it'll take a lot for me to buy another striker gun after that one. It ruined the rest for me.

Personally prefer hammer-fired for shooting, but striker-fired has an advantage for concealed carry, if that's the purpose.

No hammer striker..for the range, HD and EDC...

You can tell if a striker is cocked too..

Yea, I have a XD9 and they have a way to tell if they are cocked as well as a way to tell if there is a round chambered.
I guess I should have said "you can easily tell if they are ready".
The other thing I like about exposed hammer pistols is, you can carry one in the chamber and put the hammer at half cock. With a striker fire I wouldn't feel safe with one in the chamber because you can't decock it (at least not with my xd since it has no decocker) and if you do, racking the slide to cock it, ejects the round.
And as others have said, I like striker fired for CC.

One of the few striker pistols I know of with a de-cocker. https://www.guns.com/news/2015/04/05/walther-releasing-limited-run-of-p99-compacts
