Yes, it would require extensive (and potentially expensive) modifications.

Why not buy a WASR underfolder in the first place?

The Yugo stocks seem sturdier to me. I didn't realize how short the LOP is on my WASR either...I have a buttpad extension on the way, but the WASR folders just look flimsy

All under folders are junk, compared to fixed stocks (and some side folders).

To install an under folder, you'll need to completely replace the rear block.

I'd get a WASR with a bulgarian triangle folding stock.
Why not a Bulgarian with a bulgarian triangle folding stock?

Adding a milsurp triangle/poly side folder to a WASR will take more work than adding the under folder.

can't see how anyone that has actually held/used one would consider the UF on a WASR flimsy.. Mine is extremely solid and far from junk. Some of us actually prefer them over the standard (ugly to me) stock..

Out of curiosity is that preference based on looks or function?

I'm not a fan of under folders do to cheek weld issues and movement. I do think they look cool though. If the gun is intended as a range gun, plinker fun gun (which is what most people get AKs for) and you are into the under folder look then get what you like for whatever reason you like. A WASR under folder would do nicely for that sort of gun.
