Hey folks,

I picked up an M70 with the folding stock a while back and I actually like the rifle fine in its current configuration, but I was curious to know if the M70 Underfolder can be converted to fixed-stock configuration by installing a new rear trunnion. If so, where's the best place to find a rear trunnion that will fit the Yugo (couldn't find them at Numrich)?

Thanks!

If you could find a fixed Yugo rear trunnion, you'd still have holes to weld up from the folder and you'd have to drill new holes for the fixed stock trunnion.

Yugo fixed stock rear trunnions seem to be made of unobtanium.

You might buy a PSL/FPK rear trunnion (they are narrow like the other Yugo trunnions) and use any AK buttstock with it.

Hmmm...well, I was prepared to deal with the extra holes (I was going to just put some pins/bolts through with a washer on each side to block the holes) but I don't really feel like adding any more holes. Finding the rear trunnions seems to be a big IF...good call on the unobtainium...can't find them anywhere.

Yep, the holes for the rear trunnions (either actual Yugo fixed rear or FPK/PSL fixed rear) don't match the ones for the underfolder.

It would be a lot more trouble then it would ever be worth. Just buy a fixed stock M70B1 NIB from century via classicarms for $419 and they come with all orriginal wood not the plastic bs on the AB2's
