So today I stumbled across a small cache of Yugo Mausers in 8x57. They were all priced at $399+ tax, so about $440 out the door around here. They all seemed like they were in decent shape for old rifles. All still had signs of being packed in cosmoline. Some of them (maybe all, didn't have long to browse) had straight bolt handles. I'm pretty new to Mausers in general, are straight bolt handles typical on Yugo Mausers? Also, some of them still had the Yugo crest or whatever still in tact while others appear to have been partially to fully ground off of the receiver. So if I can find one of these on the rack with a good bore and stock in decent shape, what's a fair price? And how difficult is it to scope one with a straight bolt handle? I've been looking to pick up a Savage in .30-06 for another deer rifle, but I'm a sucker for old guns.

That seems a little high for a yugo Mauser, but not out of the ballpark.

Check all the serial numbers to make sure they all match.

I've had three different yugos on hold in the past six months. Watch out, mausers are addictive.

I have 5 of them in stock condition left and I got them for around $250.00 each.
The price has gone up a bit since I bought them, but not as high as you mentioned even with matching numbers.

Glad to hear it. I have one in unissued condition............paid 110 bucks for it a few years ago.....chris3
