Which would you choose and why? Please explain experiences with both. I've basically figured that I should spring for something with better quality than a WASR.

polish, because i owned a yugo and didn't like it. so i got a WASR UF, all they need is furniture.

If you can take the time to be able to hand select a WASR they are fine. Just remember ANY rifle needs to be fed QUALITY ammo to provide good accuracy.
If two equally well built UF's were sitting in front of me with the same price I'd take the Polish for the chrome lined barrel and standard handguards.

I have a Yugo, and I like it. Partially because of the grenade launcher.

I have a Yugo and like it, but have been thinking about getting a Polish underfolder also. While the Yugo doesn't have a chrome lined barrel like most AK's, it did come with a grenade launcher and night sights.
