Considering a Yugo Underfolding m70 ab2t

Based on my own experience, you do not want an underfolder. The underfolding stock is heavy, slow and awkward to operate, and blocks the safety lever when folded. While it may be the most compact when stowed, that minute benefit over a side folder does not make up for its drawbacks.

i'll have to agree with the guy above, i've found underfolders to suck as well.. AK74M and AK100 style left side folders, or the right side folding stucks are much better, and if you build the rifle yourelf you have the option of the AK builder rear trunnion which gives you an ACE modular interface that allows you to use your choice of a left or right side folding hinge with any number of stocks or adapters.. so if you wanted to you could even have a side folding telescoping magpul stock on your AK with that.. that'll piss off the anti-gunners twice as much

so those are three better options (left side folding, right side folding, or the ACE modular mechanism via the AK builder rear trunnion) that are better than the underfolders in my opinion

also, if im not mistaken you cant use a side rail on the underfolders either which is by far the best way to mount optics on an AK.. with AK side mounts all your optics are quick-detach and retain a perfect zero and with different mounts made specifically for different optics.. for example the RS mount and the bushnell TRS-25 like i have on mine allows a lower 1/3 co-whitness and still has enough of a gap above the top cover to allow complete disassembly without removing it, since my sights do not have a picatinny they mount to and are attached from the side theres a lot of space that can be freed up between the sight itself and the top cover allowing it to sit really low and still be able to disassemble

so i as well would advise against the under folder because it limits you from having a good side mount and there is no better way to mount your optics, its even better than the top cover rails and doglegs, and as the guy above stated, it interferes with the safety too
