was searching gunbroker for "zombie." wanted to see if they had any good deals on those bleeding zombie targets and ended up finding this gem..lol. all you mosin purists are probably steaming right now. i thought it was funny at least.

I like it. Wonder if it can still take a Bayo. Spiking space zombies while reloading. What he needs to make it the ultimate space zombie rifle is an extended trench magazine.

Since zombies use Shambling Wave Attacks as their primary tactic, the bolt action is a poor choice. The rate of fire is too slow, magazine capacity too limited and speed reloads difficult even with practice.

I have found the best way to deal with zombies is to use a team of three, armed with Molotov Cocktails, Shotguns and an AR or AK. The rifle is used by the team leader to pin down the zombies while the second team member lobs the lit Molotov's into the air to be broken like clay pigeons to rain flaming destruction upon the undead hordes. Sometimes we use a fourth team member equipped with a second rifle & backup shotgun as needed. The only time the Mosin has proven useful is in a sniper overwatch role

The original use for which that rifle was designed - fighting Nazis on the Russian front in WWII - was way more terrifying than any stupid zombie fiction.

Why do people bother with " zombie " Mosin Negants?

I don't get it, I know your not supposed to talk about that kind of stuff here, but there are much better weapons for " zombie's " that your could drop money into.

I personally find it a waste to do anything to Mosin other than collect crates of them & ammo for them.
Much better thing my funds could go to.

Just my opinion.
