I just put a Burris 4.5x14x42mm tac30 on my SASS in a peppr mount. Pretty pleased with it and only about 1/2 the price, but of course it isn't quite the same scope either. ;) Just throwing it out there.
Being a school teacher I can't carry at work, and that takes up a very large part of my day. I also like to partake in a frosty cold beverage on the weekends and that means that on those occasions I am also proverbially naked.

I didn't sand that much off. I was trying to get some of the old finish off, and I thought that woudl be the easiest way. Like I said, this is the first time I've ever tried anything like that. It still has plenty of "character".
I just posted a picture of my Walnut that was purchased from AIM in another thread. I just sanded on it a little and then tung oiled it.
The handpick from AIM doesn't just guarantee you a walnut. It's 10 more for walnut. I haven't ever heard of anyone getting a K31 that wasn't an excellent...
I bought a walnut K31 from AIM and refinished it by going over it with sandpaper and then putting about 8 coats of Tung oil on it. I hadn't ever done anything like this before, but I'm happy with how it turned out. After Christmas I'm thinking about picking up a Birch to go with it.
