Those of you that carry a revolver for CCW, how many of you carry a reload?

Those that do carry a reload, how, exactly, do you carry it? Loose rounds? Speed Strips or speedloader? One full reload or more?

Where do you carry it? Pocket or belt?

Now, here's a question that requires a bit of reflection....how would you LIKE to carry it?

For example, if there was an easy way to carry a reload discreetly on the belt, would that be of interest?

Single action = cartridge belt

Double action .32-20 = belt slide (nothing else fit .32-20 so I had one made)

Defensive revolver = HKS speedloaders in a pouch/case on my belt, or full moon clips in a pouch/case on a belt.

Hunting revolver = ammo wallet on a belt

Speed loaders, moon clips and speed strips are notorious for picking up lint, hair, gum wrappers, cash coins and anything else you might have in your pocket. No matter how you carry them carry them away from ANY thing else.

Speed loaders; Quik strips, Bianchi speed strips...

In the 2000s, I owned & toted a few wheel guns.
I used Safariland Comp II 6 round speed loaders for my duty GPNY .38spl 4". They worked okay but I was never really confident with them(I'm left handed).
I purchased a few 6rd rubber Bianchi Speed Strips to carry off duty. They worked great. :D
Tip: you can fit 02 speed strips in a Altoids candy tin. ;)
The strips worked fine & carry was a snap.
Today, Id suggest using the Tuff Products Quik Strips. They come in a # of sizes/calibers and you can buy them in black or safety orange(my pick).
Orange is better so you can clearly see your extra rounds in low light.
See www.Tuffproducts.com . The Quik Strip prices are decent too.

I don't often carry reloads unless I am in the woods or something. Even then, I just have loose rounds in my pocket.

S&W 642 in weak side front pocket and at least a speed strip in strong side front pocket and sometimes a speed loader with the speed strip as well.

If I carried a revolver as a primary SD handgun I'd like two speed loaders strong side on my belt.

S&W 36 IWB, speed strip in r/f pocket. I would prefer to carry an hks speedloader, but it's bulky and when in my pocket the rounds work themselves loose.

I don't CC a revolver but OC it with speedloaders in a speedloader pouch.

I wear tactical pants most of the time these days, so I carry a speed strip in the mag pocket with my comb. I also have a Maxpedition go bag with two speedloaders in a double case and sometimes another speed strip. The bag includes a partial box of SD rounds (among other things). That's for the car or anytime away from home. My car/backup gun is in the rear of that bag and within easy reach. Neat little Interarms Rossi 88 .38 Special or my SW 637 PC. The bag has reloads for those 38s too.

For my J frame I carry one reload in a speed strip. I keep it in a back pocket. In the Winter I add a speed loader to my jacket/coat pocket but still carry the speed strip.

One Safariland Comp I speedloader in a Del Fatti SLC-2 carrier on the belt (sometimes two), with a Bianchi "speedstrip" :) in a Del Fatti SSC belt pouch behind that.

Always have the equivalent of two "reloads-worth" with me on the "off side". Mostly, it's to help balance the weight of the gun on the "strong side", but of course it's never bad to have spare ammunition!

Moon clips if the gun allows. 1/1 by preference, 1/2 or 1/3 if space is an issue (three 1/3 clips will fit into spaces one 1/1 will not).

When I carry a reload, it's a speed strip. But the way I handle them, they're definitely slow strips.

The only wheelgun I carry concealed is a CA Bulldog .44, and I carry just one reload in pocket on a cut-down SKS stripper clip. I have speedloaders, but I do not like carrying them.

A speed strip in my pocket. It would be pretty much useless during a gunfight, but is so I can reload after the shooting is over... in case it really isn't over.

Speed strip in the watch pocket of my Levi's if .38/357.
Two half moon clips of .45 ACP in the same manner if carrying my big ol belly gun.

I carry a Bianchi speed strip in my left front pocket loaded with 5 Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel 135 grain .38 Special +P Jacketed Hollow Point rounds. The revolver is equiped with Barami hip grips and is located in the 3:00 position.

Works for me.

When I carry my Taurus 455 I use this double pouch, allows me to carry 4 5-rd moon clips

When I carry my 44mag SBH SA in the woods I use this by galco:

And I am thinking of getting this for 38sp, it holds one speed strip. From simply rugged, called the most versatile ammo pouch

If you can come up with an easier way to carry spare reloads, revolver or semi, I am game to try it.

For the LCR, I stick a speed strip in my pocket - watch pocket if so equipped. I have a speedstrip pouch and a speedloader carrier as part of my GP100 rig, both worn on the belt, but I find them a bit awkward to carry and use. The extra 20 pounds I'm carrying around could be to blame for that though.
