Your Next Handgun - Which One, and How You Plan to Get It ?

Probably a .357 Ruger Police Service Six with a 4 inch barrel in stainless. It was my first revolver, fixed sights and I shot it really well. Sold it 30 years ago and missed it ever since.
Had a Security Six with adjustable rear sight but it just wasn't the same. I like the simplicity of fixed sights for target acquisition.

I'm cashing in my credit card rewards points to pay for my next gun. I'm going back and forth between a Glock 20 and a Dan Wesson 1911. I have a number of 1911's, so I'm leaning towards the Glock.

No Drama - Just Smarts

Hey, Aarond.:)
It will take me awhile to save up the cash, and as I said, I might change my wants at any time. This frequently happens.
Also, the gun in mind is currently at a reasonable price online. I'm paranoid enough that the price might go up if mentioned often, and might cause a run, or a "run out"!:uhoh:

Well hopefully things will come together and work out for you. :)

I almost forgot I have some Cabela's Bucks so maybe over Christmas Holidays when we visit Columbus a Cabela's mandatory stop will be in order. :)

PPQ .45 because I've been waiting years for this to happen. I'll put it on my credit card and then pay it off over the next couple months.

Boomeradf, you won't be disappointed with the Coonan. Just be sure to feed it full power loads. What a blast!

Personally I am after an S&W 647 PC .17 HMR. Someone gets one in stock I'll buy it cash, actually CC to get the points as I pay off the CC the following month. Always.

I also want a 10mm longslide, but that's not as important to me.

I'd like a P83- just to keep my P64 from feeling boxed in by the EG and Bulgarian Makarovs... Maybe a current ( non C&R) Zastava M57/M70..And/or an M92....maybe a RIA 9mm/.22TCM Tactical combo for grins....something CZ besides my CZ52. I'll work it out.

looking at a single stack 9mm either a M&P shield or Ruger lc9s i cant make up my mind

I usually plan my purchases well in advance. My next opportunity for a new handgun probably will come around March (bonus &tax refund time). I haven't pinned down exactly what I need. Some contenders are a super black hawk 41 mag hunter, a glock 40 mos 10mm or a .460 Smith, plus dies as any of these would get expensive in a hurry if buying factory. Some long gun contenders as well, but I still have plenty of time to decide...

It's all good my friend,,,

Hey, Aarond.

That's reasonable.

I hope I didn't come off a snarky,,,
I know how hard it is to save for something,,,
And have the price increasing as you try to amass the cash.

Kind of like hitting a target that's moving away from you. ;)

For the first 54 years of my life I had no disposable money,,,
It's only in recent years that I've been able to indulge my gun-nuttery.

But to answer your original question,,,
My next handgun will be a Rossi R98 Plinker .22 revolver,,,
Every month I budget an amount of money strictly for ammo and guns.

I have saved a tidy sum as I didn't go to the range much this summer,,,
So I'm taking that cash to the Wannenmacher's gun show,,,
It's next weekend and I am very excited about it.

The revolver will become the handgun component of a range kit,,,
I like to pair rifles and pistols and case them together,,,
This gun will be paired with a Savage Mk-IIF.

They will make a nice "grab-n-go" set of range toys.

VP9 I plan to beat the hell out of Daniel Craig and take his from the latest Bond flick.

I want a WWII Inglis Hipower with the shoulder stock to go with my C96 Broomhandle. I need to save up for a few months before I can get it.

My current obsession is for an HK VP9 (preferably the LE model). Actually obtaining it will involve some serious domestic policy work (begging, pleading, cajoling, completing "honey-do" lists, etc.) with the missus. Affording the gun is not the issue...making the purchase fit HER budget? Well, that's another matter altogther! ;)

I'm easy to please, or maybe already have most of the guns I want. But I'd like to find a Smith Model 10 or pre-10 M&P. I'd settle for 90% condition at the right price.

SP101 4" .357 would nicely fill a hole in my arsenal.
Hoping for Sportsman's Warehouse gift cards for the holidays. :D

The most powerful sidearm ever issued to U.S. Armed forces...

I just got to have me one of these.

No reason, just need one. Plan to buy it from Dixie Gun works.

With Christmas fast approaching, gun buying is becoming secondary to laptops, iPads, embroidery machines and supplies, new house gifts, certain graduation presents and such.

But I do kind of want another BHP.

I just completed a switch to 9mm Glocks for duty and most personal-time carry, as .40 recoil was becoming a bit much for one of my aging, aching wrists, whether shooting lefty or right-handed. (The support hand does feel the force of recoil, too, when using a good thumbs-forward grip.) With a pair, each, of G17 and G19, plus a G34, acquired over a 3.5-year time span, the next logical step is a G26, for on-duty back-up. it is not that I necessarily need a G26, as I already have other small handguns for that role, but a G26 is a leading contender for my next handgun, most likely a "blue label" from a local police equipment store.

If I buy a handgun before Summer 2016, it will likely be a G26. Everything else would probably be postponed beyond that point, as the second quarter of 2016 is a potential time for me to retire. (Or, I may well work a few more years.)

An AR15 lower receiver is a serious consideration. I already have a lower receiver parts kit, and a logical next step is a receiver that is not designated as a rifle receiver, so I can build either a rifle or pistol.

.22 LR target pistols are appealing. Several options have my attention.

I like single-action revolvers. I have "enough" of them, but as my attention turns from surviving the big-city streets, to rural walking-about, well, something new will probably appeal to me, sooner or later.

Nothing I have mentioned here will be acquired by accruing debt. I use an American Express card for most purchases, but it is paid, in full, each month.
