What would be on the list of guns that every firearms enthusiast should try at least once? For me it's a Garand (never shot) and a really nice 22 bolt. Any others?

I would say an M1 of some sort as well. A Garand, M1A, or even an M1 carbine. The recoil impulse from the op rod is just so different. Also, a 6" Colt Python, and pretty much anything fully automatic.

Big bore model 86 (reloading for one that's a 45-90, it's fun), model 1885 High Wall (never shot but dreaming of one in 40-90), full size 1911, a Belgian A5, 44 special (for those that think 44's are miserable), model 94 30-30, and many more but those are tops on my list.

I think everyone should shoot a flintlock, it'll give you a new appreciation for modern centerfire guns. beyond that, a Tommy gun, a 50BMG, M203, and, while we're at it, a LAW or two!

Well, lets see, a big revolver, and a lever rifle those are fun,and anyone that ever watched a western will dig them. Then a 1911 in .45 a classic to be sure . Then any .22 that you can try out ,just because they are fun. Cant forget shotguns, you gotta fire a couple of boxes outta a side by side 12 gauge back to the cowboy thing, and you need to fire a good pump, and even a semi auto, its a good experiance to check them out . after those I would suggest an Enfeild,Mosin Nagant, or 03 Springfeild so you can appreciate how TOUGH our grandfathers were. shooting those old military bolt rifles aint for wimps. then, maybe an AR15 and a AK47 and a M14 less recoil = more fun I havent tried a fully automatic but I realy want to !

A full auto or a 50 BMG. I have both and call them my giggle guns. Everyone who shoots them for the first time has a big ol'smile on their face and they start to giggle like a little kid.

A 4 bore elephant gun, with a heavy charge (over 300 grains) of 1F and a 2000 gr conical bullet. Pretty much the most unpleasant rifle to fire I have ever shot. Cannot be fired sitting down, it will knock you off the chair.

I've got a friend who's got really BIG friends. They shot stuff of the Ronald Reagan. A lot of stuff! Now I want to shoot an anti missile gun at a missile. If not that one of those older quad .50 anti aircraft guns. If your gonna dream, might as well go big. I wish you could all hear the stories of what they did while they were out. Lots and lots of live fire at floating and air targets. Must have been some kind of day! Thanks for the thread. Any one know what the R2 is? not the real name for it. a nick-name but OMG!

A fifty pound, fifty caliber muzzle loading slug gun at Friendship, IN. Earth shakes, powder smoke obliterates the range, and the half inch slugs drop into the X-ring with monotonous regularity.

I was in the field artillery and while probably difficult to do, firing a howitzer is a real hoot.

I would like to try out a Solothurn 20mm rifle and a high end sniper type rifle at long range.

A fellow shooter and builder made a Ruger 10/22 with a silencer that fires from an open bolt. For demonstration purposes only you understand. A really fast way to burn thru a brick of 22LR.

Some finely engraved double rifle made to one's precise measurements in .416 Rigby, preferably in over and under configuration, single trigger, grade VI (or whatever Luxus arms uses) wood superbly hand checkered, gloss glass-like finish, deeply blued perfectly polished steel.

Topped with a DeltaPoint :D

Firing he main gun on the M1A1 Abrams MBT is something special.

Second for me would be the M2 Browing ring mounted on an M113 APC

I have a pretty good selection of things to shoot. Sold the FA a couple of years ago, got tired of it. Old RB is fun also and a S&W .460 mag + others.
