I was just curious as to if anyone was buying a putting away A-15 lowers in various parts of the country. I have three put away to build later for my kids.

Anyone buying AR-10 lowers as well?

Why bother? If Hillary bans ARs, don't count on them being grandfathered as in the past.

There's too many of them out there for a ban with a grandfather clause to achieve their desired outcome.

They're going to shoot for the moon and go for confiscations, using Australia as their model. Such has been clearly stated.

I saw an AR10 lower today. I was not sure if I should grab it or not. I have one full SIG AR-15 and three lowers for later. I have one Daniels Defense AR-10 and no lowers. Kinda wonder sometimes if you making the right move or not!!!!

not lowers. i actually have a small stock already and i'm building them all out now because i don't want to get stuck with a worthless lower if parts dry up

i'm kinda curious how many more lowers there are out there than parts to complete rifles. my guess is, it will be like musical chairs with everybody rushing to buy barrels, uppers, triggers etc

I have one extra lower, a parts kit, and a BCG. Oh, and a buffer tube. Not quite stockpiling.

I wonder if stockpiling anything that is on a 4473 is a good investment? If things really go bad you'll just have to turn them in.

Guess I need to go buy a few private sale ARs...

"Just turn them in"

Not a chance in hell.

But no I'm not panic buying either.

Even Clinton will never confiscate firearms. There is sooo much crazy hype when a Dem. gets elected about  OMG they're gonna take our guns away!
All this attitude does is drive prices through the roof:banghead: Ironically, it also causes a rampant boost in sales before and during any gun control efforts, thus INCREASING the amount of semi-autos out there, including by some who probably shouldn't have em.

Yes, this is a good time to get whatever, bc despite rational attitudes by informed gun owners, the true believers of radical nra dogma will still drive up prices as usual, causing scarcity for the rest of us.
Of course, if you've got stuff you're not in love with kickin around the back of your closet, this can be a windfall.

Look, they couldnt' even get universal background checks passed after CT masacre. Most Dems. do not want to take folks guns, and even if they did, they can't.

Go ahead and hate, but it's the truth:cool:

I bought two $40 Anderson Arms lowers just in case. I currently have 4 ARs so I really don't see needing another in my future. But, at $40/each its worth having on hand.

and even if they did, they can't.
It could most certainly happen. The only reason it hasn't so far is we have been effective in getting pro gun candidates elected. That can change, and if it does, it can certainly happen. To say it can't happen is naive.

So, get out and vote for pro gun candidates. And by the way, Hillary ain't one of them. ;)

Don't forget about all the house and senate seats, as well as local races. :)

No, I had plenty a long time ago. Kind of got in a habit of swapping uppers around too to avoid more tax stamp costs.

All it would take is for Hillary to load up the supreme court with a bunch of anti-gun justices and for them to rule that the 2nd doesn't apply to civilian possession of firearms.

The difference between our country and England or Austrailia will be the thousands of small groups who will ambush the collectors, believe it :)
And then we will take sides, funny our side has most of the guns, and believes in shooting and has experience with such, interesting times :)
and yes I bought some extras and built them and then bought uppers :)

Yes, getting some off of local gun boards from individuals as I can (no paper trail). Also hit a LGS that has a good price on them every couple of weeks. Making sure I don't get reported to local LE due to number or time between purchases.

Also about to start collecting parts kits.

.

guys, as much as this nonsense is on all our minds, if you want to discuss that, don't do it in rifle country. let's keep this thread on topic and not debate whether or not the gov has the will or ability to enforce any crackpot confiscation plans.

Easier said than done when there's a gun at your wife or child's head.

As in a Gestaop-esque style of confiscation? Not likely to happen, but since you're cherry picking an extreme example then my reply is "there will be twice as many pointed back a them, and not going to get to that point without bullets fired".

The Katrina aftermath hopefully taught a lot of Americans that confiscations will be 'forced' upon the people. Hopefully American's who give a damn about their rights will take that lesson and stand up to any such action in the future.

Maybe all it will do is make Martyrs out of those willing to stand for our rights. Maybe it will make the .gov step back. Maybe it will be un-enforced law, kind of like Massachusetts right now***.

As I said, if it came down to "you'll just have to turn them in", then not a chance in hell. Lets leave extreme examples out of it.

***I use MA as an example because there is no door-to-door confiscating after that sweeping change to the AW definitions to create a defacto-ban on all semi auto's in state.
