For the .38 Super

The Witness pistol can be had in .38 Super. Supposedly some Thompsons were chambered in .38 Super but I've never heard much about them. The Ingram Model 6 also. But mostly it's found in various 1911s.

Can’t think of anything else marked that way. Pretty sure I’ve seen references to conversion barrels for some Glock models. Just did a search and it looks like Lone Wolf made a conversion barrel for 10mm Glocks a few years ago, but it doesn’t appear to be available anymore.

Taurus use to make the PT 38S in .38 Super. Might be able to find one on Gunbroker, Armslist, or GunsAmerica or try looking at your local gun shows.

S&W made a revolver for a while chambered in 38 Super

Years ago SIG made the P220 in .38 Super.

There was a Browning BDA in 38 super, it was made by Sig if I remember correctly.

I remember both the 9mm. and .38 Super BDAs. They collected dust on dealer's shelves as practically nobody knew about them (or even that they were built by SIG), and that they were rather big, service type, single stack magazine designs (if you were thinking about getting a Browning in 9mm. your thoughts naturally went to the Hi-Power). I would venture a guess that most dealer's probably sold them at bargain basement prices just to get rid of them. If I had the money at the time (of course, I didn't), I would have picked up both models and tucked them away for some future retirement income supplement.

Last I knew, there is a compact version of the Witness that was/is made. A little smaller than a Glock 19.

It's usually found in pistols that can also be had in .45ACP, since its overall length is similar to the 45ACP. It won't fit in a frame designed to just barely accommodate 9/40. It's similar to the 10mm in that regard.

Built around "short action" cartridges: 9mm/40/.357SIG. [EDIT: Apparently, there is already a 45 chambering of the P320, so they've already got enough space in the frame.] Would probably require a significant re-engineering to fit 38 super/45/10mm. Since the XDs has a 45 variant already, that seems a bit more feasible.

But right now, all the "gun culture" talk is about how 9mm is the ideal SD cartridge.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind that either.

Unfortunately 38 Super does not seem to be experiencing the same increase in popularity that 10mm is. So I'm considering a Glock 29, and more or less giving up on 38 super. Boy, Glocks give me the willies though.

Yep, that's why my mind jumped to the XDs, and since I've been carrying one since they were released. I'd be interested in a 10mm version too, but I'm thinking "ouch".
