Other than the 1911 platform are there any other handguns that fire the .38 Super?
Thank you...
Thank you...
Years ago SIG made the P220 in .38 Super.
They were. They command collector prices as only about 600 were ever imported in that caliberThere was a Browning BDA in 38 super, it was made by Sig if I remember correctly.
Yes, and a little wider. Definitely a full sized gun.Oooooo, nice looking pistol AC.
Unfortunately it looks like it's similar to the size of the 1911. (is it)
Thanks for the replies everyone.

I've been wishing for a 38 Super XDs for some time. That's what I was afraid of, plenty if good guns but nothing on the smaller side for the 38 Super. I guess I'll give up on a small carry gun in that cartridge. I'm just too spoiled now to go back to a 1911 size and weight gun for carry lol.
Or maybe the Sig 320 would be nice...I've been wishing for a 38 Super XDs for some time.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind that either.Or maybe the Sig 320 would be nice...
I agree but the Sig 320 is already available in 45 ACP too.Built around "short action" cartridges: 9mm/40/.357SIG. Would probably require a significant re-engineering to fit 38 super/45/10mm. Since the XDs has a 45 variant already, that seems a bit more feasible.
But right now, all the "gun culture" talk is about how 9mm is the ideal SD cartridge.
Yep, that's why my mind jumped to the XDs, and since I've been carrying one since they were released. I'd be interested in a 10mm version too, but I'm thinking "ouch".Built around "short action" cartridges: 9mm/40/.357SIG. Would probably require a significant re-engineering to fit 38 super/45/10mm. Oh yeah, that's true. Time to start email bombing Sig.I agree but the Sig 320 is already available in 45 ACP too.

Since the 320's second or third year of productionI did not know that!
