A little background on the goodies my wife has given me. Birthday a Freedom Arms 454. Another birthday an STI Trojan 9mm. As the 2016 elections loomed & it appeared Hildabeast was going to win, she says best you go get another AR. I picked up a CORE M4 piston. After Trump won, I told her I should probably sell the CORE, because the good guys won. She says do you like it? I say of course. And she says then keep it.
So this week is our wedding anniversary. I'm hard to buy for, so she says go get yourself a gun. With nothing hot on my "want" list, I start just pecking around. On Armslist, I find a STI Electra in 9mm, and the seller is local. And yea, I know the Elektra is supposed to be a chick gun, but this one was black & I just like them. So I'm ready to meet up with the seller & he sends an email, that a previous possible buyer that has fallen off the radar has contacted him & likely still wants the gun. He feels the right thing to do is honor the earlier agreement. CRAP. So I tell him I understand, but to contact me if things fall through ( not likely ). Now I have to find something else. What a problem to have...right? So I hit a few local gun shops & pawn shops, hoping something will smile at me. And something did. I find a NIB Sig Sauer STX at the best price I've ever come across. But I didn't buy it, on the outside chance the STI still might be mine. Go home & tell DW about the SIG. She says if it's such a good price, I should buy it, or I'd be sorry. I tell her, what if I buy it and the STI becomes available? And she comes back with, "Well just buy them both". So off to the gun shop and picked up the SIG. An hour later, the STI guy emails & says it's mine if I want it. Seller tells me his wife once worked for STI & this pistol was made for her. I had a better than expected anniversary.
