Curious how you like that folding karambit.
I’ve read mixed reviews.
It really is mostly an ingenious mechanism.
I bought it because of the unique mechanism, which is really cool, but it's mostly a fidget toy. It would be highly practical for those few people who train with and carry karambits who do not carry fixed blade ones, but, you know... that's a really small number of people. It is extremely well made and a lot of fun to play with, but honestly, I don't find karambits to be practical knives, and I'm not training in Filipino martial arts, so other than as a fun fidget toy and a collector item, I have no use for it. It doesn't even really have a place in my collection, it's just an extremely high-quality novelty. I paid the Kickstarter price of $450 back in April 2018 for three of them, and I sold two at retail or close to it, so the one I have left, assuming I don't sell it, ended up costing me about the same as the CRKT version if you account for the profit I made selling my extras less my shipping costs and Paypal fees. That was a pretty good deal.
But of course I buy more knives than money I make selling them...
