What firearm fired today?

Didnt actually do any live fire today, but ordered a side-charging kit and a bipod, then played musical shoulder stocks between all my ARs, finished off with some magazine diagnostics with snap-caps.

Today I tried out a H&R model 949 and a High Standard Sentinel ....... Want to get a .22 revolver (i have a semi auto) and these 2 are both available to me for a good price I believe.

here are the models doing their best... and yes we had on ear plugs for the Phoenix. The picture was taken when we went over how it works and how to aim it.

I day dreamed about a gun in saving up for, does that count.

This was pistol match day at the gun club. 40 rounds each in three pistols: Smith &Wesson 52 38 Special,Smith & Wesson 945 45 ACP, Smith & Wesson Shield 9mm.

Had to grade my driveway today. Maybe tomorrow.

A Marlin model 60 I picked up for next to nothing because it's in pretty rough shape. It functioned great and shot surprisingly well.

My P238 I've recently been working on loads for. Got some really accurate loads that don't feed well.

My dad's Smith Bodyguard .380. Tried my loads in his and got perfect cycling and terrible accuracy along with some light primer strikes that didn't detonate. Those rounds did detonate in the P238, so back to the drawing board.

Tried some Eley .22SV I picked up at the CMP store in the model 60 and a Savage MK2 and was very pleased with how well it shot. Was happy that it functioned in the Model 60.

I’m giving it a B+. That gives it some confidence but also encourages it to try harder.

FN SLP. Fired my first loaded shotgun double oh’s. Cast the lead too with a Lee mold.

Between those two, Id go with the Sentinel. It uses a much more positive locking system similiar to a Mk3 Colt. Ive seen a few 949s with worn hands and ratchets and parts are tough to come by. Never seen a Sentinel with bad timing.

Im fairly sure it is possible to add a return spring to the ejector rod on the High Standard- pretty much its only bad feature.

Either the ruger African 280ai or the kimber Montana.

I wanted the High Standard to be the better of the 2 , I think the front sight is bent , it looked off to me , and I was having a hard time being anywhere near accurate with it. I brought both revolvers back to the gentleman who let me try them out and he was having a nap , so I didn't get to talk to him. I'll see him tomorrow and see what he thinks about that sight. Thanks for your input .......

A friend brought his Henry rifle )in .45 Long Colt?), but his age 68 buddy distracted me by his comments of "You know that the AR is not just far more accurate than an AK, but far more modular...".
I already Knew Most of What he Thought I Was Ignorant About (knew it since 2008) so I ran out of shooting time ---------no Henry in my hands----which belongs to the other guy, my friend.

* Guys, many of us are not as ignorant as we look (age 65), just because we prefer a sprayed plastic bottle as a target, and ("post Enfield, post FR8 Mauser") use an AKM or VZ-58......... please don't waste our limited time assuming so much, no matter how knowledgeable you are, since age 8.....

1911. I'm working on getting the ejection exactly the way I want it. I think I have it.

I brought my saw horse up to the range that I hang my 12" gong from and put my 6/6" steel knockdown silhouettes on top and spent a couple hours ringing steel from varying distances. Glock 17,19,44 and my ruger 10/22 and a couple AR's for some paper silhouettes I brought along as well.

Some days I'm off, some days I'm on. I have to say today I was in the zone cause I was shooting off hand at 50 yards with the 19 and making good contact repeatedly.

Three gun match today. Home built AR-15 with a .223 Wylde chamber, a Winchester 1300, and a Browning Hi-Power. I did pretty well with the shotgun and th BHP. My scope mount was loose on the AR-15. I need to get serious with the loctitie!

Everybody had a good time. Live and learn.

Ok who brought the sling shot lol.

Found it in Eddie's bag.....missed the hostage target at 25yds twice.....put it back......I need to buy a new one and get some marbles.

Good thing you didn't try a 3rd shot with that luck, may just have bad a band break lol.
