Walmart rifle closeouts

I ended up talking myself out of a new rifle, literally can't make room in the safe, haha. My father in law really wants a 223 bolt gun though, so I sent it his way to see of he wants to try to snatch one up.

Stopped into the local store this morning to see what if anything was left. Brickseek showed they had a savage axis left. I asked about a scope they had on clearance and when he went to the back to get the box for the scope, I asked him to take a look around for any of the clearance rifles. He tells me they are all gone, and that someone came in 2 weeks ago and walked out with 11 rifles. After he came back, he didn't say anything, and I didn't bother because I'm sure he didn't even check for any stragglers. I'm confident there is at least one left in stock, as the scope I did buy was the last one, and when I checked brickseek when I got out to the car, it now showed out of stock. Now it could be that the savage is on hold, but I'll check back at the start of the week.

So went to pick up my rifles today after work after doing their 3 day wait period, 15 mile ride and stood at the counter for 30 minutes to be then be told there isn't a manager tonight who can do the checkout. Guess it is karma coming back to bite for buying a gun at Walmart, mind you my Remington 700 I haven't even touched or seen yet they said it in the back on hold for me, have to go try again tomorrow.

Stick with it, I feel your pain :) .

I try to workout everyday at the Y and today was lap swim day but the dang pool had an issue and was closed. So, I went over to the Walmart next door and admired their new rifles I guess they have been making room for with all these clearance rifles:

This one is 350 Legend, CVA Cascade rifle and priced at $593! I hope that goes on clearance some day ;).

Picked my woodstock Savage 30-06 tonight. They only had a synthetic camo stock left but it was on hold. The rest were all gone. Clerk was telling me they had about 50 people today asking for them and some where getting mad thinking the clerk was lying.

I seemed to have lost my reciept though. Started to hand it to him and he said he didn't, don't know he kept it or I misplaced, so no rebate for me unless someone has a similar receipt i can use.

You cannot put guns 'on hold' at Walmart, except for when someone has a 'delayed' on the NICS check. I'd keep pestering them if you want it.

What? there's a rebate, too? I couldn't find it on Savage's website.

I clued in my brothers about the latest price reductions, one of them picked two $49 Axis rifles in .223 and .22-250 at the Elko, NV Walmart. My other brother scored a $49 Axis .223 and his son scored a wood stock .308 Axis for $79 in Everett, WA to go along with the .270 he picked up earlier for $184 in the Marysville, WA Walmart.

I picked up a couple of good deals, but most of the rifles at Walmart around here were sold out before the last round of discounts. The only way I could have picked up a $49 Axis would have been to drive halfway across the state (and it's a BIG state).

Told my brothers they owe me a drink for the heads up, now we just have to meet up so I can collect, lol.

My wife said that the dept.manager marked the Axis 223 down to $45 and a customer immediately bought it. I told her not to come home from work with stories like that unless she's carrying a rifle.
In the past she has brought home a mini 14, a ranch rifle , several 10/22s, and two Taurus 357 Mag revolvers so I can't complain too much.

If anyone living close to Gordonsville VA and wants to get one of the clearance rifles Sunday is the day!
I was vacationing there earlier this week so I called about the guns.
They told me that they are short on managers that can process the sales. They said the manager was on vacation and would be working Sunday.
The Brickseek website listed several rifles at this store. With not being able to sell guns for the majority of the week they all looked like they were marked down to the lowest prices.
Non state residents can purchase guns from them with two forms of ID. Check the web for your state. South Carolina was ok.

GETTING GUNS AT THESE LOW PRICES IS LIKE WINNING THE LOTTERY!!!

Good luck if you go!

Got the Remington 700 in .223 today that I bought Tuesday for $199.00. So far very nice rifle, slick bolt action and light and crisp trigger with no creep. Came with a 4x12x40mm scope have no idea who made it don't see a name on it. But all the reviews of Remington having bad quality these days, so far it seems really nice. Not bad for $199.00 , I'm a lefty shooter but so what.

Leupold scopes are being snapped up there may be one at another local Walmart I will have to check, 4x12x40 Rifleman on sale for $169.00 and 3x9x40 on sale for $139.00, think I'm gonna get a 4x12 for my vintage 700 made in 1982 , it has a crap Simmons 3x9 on it right now but Leupold rings on it already.

Walmart forget to to take their trigger lock off my .22 magnum, now I have drive back there so they can take it off:cuss:
I had the opposite. They took forever trying to find a key that would unlock the triggerguard lock on one of mine. They must use the same cheapo locks over and over again and they are starting to wear out. I wanted to tell them to just leave it on so I could hurry up and go. I have a hand drill and know how to use it.

this is outrageous!
It is beautiful. Been on cloud 9 all week.

You sir, are a very lucky man.

What does Wal-Mart do if the delay goes too long? Do they return the rifle to stock and refund the money?

Well I stopped at 2 Wal-Mart's today in my county, probably safe to say all the clearance rifles in Pasco County, Florida are all gone. Still wish I could find my receipt, grrr

I got lucky and scored two more Axis xp wood stock rifles a 270 & 30-06. $74 each.
The first one was $184 (243 win).

Should provide hours of fun on the range and field.

The wood stocked version is a nice upgrade from the synthetic. I just wish I could have found mine in some more useful to me calibers. I got 243s and a 22-250. Although it makes sense that’s what would be unsold in my area as people want to be able to take elk and blackbear so the more powerful chamberings get bought up first.
