Just hopped on here to post the same thing, just saw it in my email. Looks like a nice P365 competitor, especially being optic ready at an MSRP under $500. I think they’ll have a winner on their hands.
Taurus has their G3 models optic ready so it’s definitely trickling down to the more budget friendly optionsMaybe this will encourage more inexpensive optics ready models
If MAX-9 gets popular enough, it's not a deal breaker, iMHO. I have a TLR-6 on my Glock 42. And last time I looked, there were at least three more lights available: Viridian 5-R, LaserMax, Nightstick. It would be worse if Ruger put a proprietary rail on there and charged patent royalties from the manufacturers of lights.Only thing I don't see is a rail for a light. I don't think that's a dealbreaker, most people are not slapping lights on their carry pistols, but if someone was looking for a one gun solution for carry and nightstand duty, the Max 9 could have been it, but Ruger didn't want to offer a rail model for some reason.
I’m impressed that they have a couple of dozen holster options (including Alien Gear and Desantis) lined up before the release. That’s pretty savvy total marketing!
On the other hand, you can’t buy extra mags for it...at least for a few weeks. You’d think they would have geared up production to cover the demand. So for the time being you’re stuck with the two that come with the gun.
The good news is those two mags will now hold about $35 worth of 9MM.

I already have one on order through my FFL. Gunblast video said he measured the trigger at 3lbs 2oz.
Have a Romeo zero on the way for it also.
