So a local shop has a Springfield XDM 10mm with the 4.5 inch barrel, and I'm really tempted to get it. I just have reservations about buying a polymer frame 10mm and its resiliency for shooting full power loads. On the flip side, my plan is for this to be primarily a defensive carry pistol, so maybe shooting full power loads shouldn't be a consideration, but I would like it to be reliable under any and all circumstances I might find myself in, including being in wild animal country. I do have a RIA double stack 1911 10mm which is a much better "bear gun," but that's too beefy for me to carry comfortably every day. I currently carry a XDM 9mm and it's great, and I used to own a XD 45 which was a phenomenal shooter, so I am sold on Springfield the name. I'm curious if anybody has one of these, and can share their experience on how it shoots, and how well it handles the hotter 10mm loads. The other option I really like for a 10mm carry pistol is an all steel Tanfo, but those are considerably more.
Thanks in advance.
