The bad guys will all run when there is a bang anyway.
You keep on believing that. I hope you never have to find out the truth....

Lets assume you carry in those rural neighborhoods, you are likely not carrying for people typically encountered.
Odds are if you have to defend yourself the threat(s) came from elsewhere. FACT- "bad" people are mobile.
For threats that left their "bad area" on a potentially murderous field trip to a "good area" 32acp/22lr is the preferred caliber to incapacitate them ASAP?
No one can know--and that's the point.Seriously, if you're in the know about what threats I'm likely to face and what I should carry to defend myself against them, what are those threats I'm likely to face?

You missed me. Are passing strangers "threats"?No one can know what threats they're likely to face? Are you more likely to see a stranger walk past your house, or find a rattlesnake by your front door?

Which question was that? You also didn't and haven't answered the question you responded to.
What are the dimensions of what you consider to be your "environment"?But to answer yours, it would depend on the environment you lived in I guess.
Do you actually believe that criminal treats to those who live in rural environments are likely to "walk past" on foot?I've never seen a stranger walk past my house

Where I live and work.

Criminals who have attacked people, burglarized their homes, and carjacked them in the rural areas around the St. Louis metropolitan area have almost always arrived in vehicles.
One more time: what in the world might that have to do with "likely threats"?Let's stay on point. In reference to the first question about likely threats, I asked you whether you were more likely to see a stranger walk past your house, or a rattlesnake outside your front door.

Not challenging you, at all. Just curious.I do what I do and carry what I carry. Don't really care what others do, but if anyone wants to know what I do and why, I'll discuss it.
And that, in a nutshell, is why the rest of us simply say, "Good luck with that."Most of us are simply going to carry what we feel comfortable with carrying.
Yup.And that, in a nutshell, is why the rest of us simply say, "Good luck with that."
The thing with that is... how many that screech “I carry XXX full size handgun, ten spare mags, and a sawed off scattergun shoved down my pants !!!” actually carry something along the lines of a snub .38 or pocket .380/9x19 ? I’d be willing to bet *far* more than readily admit they do.And that, in a nutshell, is why the rest of us simply say, "Good luck with that."
Ah. Are you stating then, that some/many/most of those who state that they regularly carry <more than a mousegun> or a full-size handgun are actually lying? In a feeble internet attempt to... "keep up with the Jones?"The thing with that is... how many that screech “I carry XXX full size handgun, ten spare mags, and a sawed off scattergun shoved down my pants !!!” actually carry something along the lines of a snub .38 or pocket .380/9x19 ? You see, it’s also human nature to lie and to attempt to “keep up with the Jones’”
I’m saying that people succumb to the innate nature of “just barely getting by”. And there’s a vast difference in “can not” effectively conceal and “unwilling” to effectively conceal. Some genuinely *can not* effectively conceal a Glock 17 in their everyday life including work, due to dress or work requirements. Some are simply *unwilling* to buy an entire new wardrobe to conceal a Glock 17 when they can easily and effortlessly carry a S&W J frame, pocket .380 or micro 9x19mm.Ah. Are you stating then, that some/many/most of those who state that they regularly carry <more than a mousegun> or a full-size handgun are actually lying? In a feeble internet attempt to... So the underlying sentiment in your statement would seem to be that most folks cannot effectively conceal anything other than a mousegun. Would that be correct?
What do you really believe?
I've got absolutely zero to prove to ANYONE ON THE INTERNET. I'm simply calling you on your BS.
Seriously, if you're in the know about what threats I'm likely to face and what I should carry to defend myself against them, what are those threats I'm likely to face?
Example rationalizations:
I live in a good area.
Nobody want to (volunteer to) get shot with it.
Better than nothing
The Extreme Nuclear 32 acp does bazillion damage to gel
Example truths:
It is the best I'm willing to carry (not work)
It is the best I can carry (work)
I have a physical limitation
A 32 acp in my pocket is the best I'm willing/able to do.
Who else would rather simply see posted truths > rationalizations
