Favorite Striker Fired Pistol?

I think one of the Turkish companies made a clone of the P99. It probably wouldn't be expensive to if you happened to run across one.

It was your comment a while back that made me start this thread. You own a lot more pistols than I likely ever will. While I like striker fired pistols, hammer fired pistols, revolvers, etc. I don't have the time & financial means to buy or rent everything that is out there so your comment piqued my curiosity.
Mike, if you’re ever down my way, stop by for a visit. The indoor range is just a few miles from my house. We could go shoot any of my hand guns you like, and I’ll provide the the ammo. Shooting is always more fun with others.

. Thank you for that generous offer if I ever get out that way I will message you. It is always good to get to meet a fellow forum member in real life.

Mike J:

My P99 AS was ordered with no previous handling (!) of any. This might appear very careless (where’s my ice cream?).

Numerous reports of the smoothly-stacking DA trigger — being better than a stock HK USP— was what persuaded me.

I see Bud's is selling those for close to $360. Tempting!
All the reviews of Canik pistols are pretty favorable.
It is curious to note that the Walther P99 AS is one of the most "cloned" and/or licensed pistols, after the usual 1911, CZ 75, Beretta 92, Glock. Evidently it is really a successful project.

My favorite is my M&P 9 v1.0 with Apex trigger. I just bought an M&P 9 v2.0 and I will probably end up with a Performance Center model soon. My v1.0 just feels good in my hands and is accurate. I've had Glocks (I still have my G48. It's a keeper), Sigs, H&K, CZ, Beretta, etc and I liked them all but the M&P does it for me.

A lot of variety.
Like some others, most of my pistols are hammer fired. As for striker fired, right now I’d have to say my SR45. The way it handles recoil is amazing to me. Too bad Ruger badly designed the PC mag safety.
My favorite might change when the new IWI Masada arrives, hopefully by the weekend…

A member here made a comment in another thread a while back that gave me the idea for this thread. His comment was, "the S&W M&P is my favorite striker fired pistol." or something very similar. So my question is what is your favorite striker fired pistol & why. I am just as interested in why it is your favorite as I am in what is your favorite.
The little pistol that shoots like a big pistol.

I always hated having to have to shoot Ruger SR series pistols without a magazine. It took me two years and a lot of paperwork to get my department to donate magazines from Guns that were being destroyed to the State Lab. I ended up with a magazine library of over 100 different magazines within the first year. When I retired the magazine library at the state lab had closed to 200 magazines for different pistols.

The above is from the OP, and many posters recently seem to be ignoring his full request...(the Why)

Let's try to respect his request for complete information rather than just naming one's favorite striker fired pistol

Well, I like my Canik TP9SFx mostly for it's excellent trigger and it's long sight radius. And FO front sight.

Thank you for reminding everyone. The why is honestly what I think is most interesting.

One big factor that puts Glock high on the list of many shooters that like them is the fact that magazine are cheap compared to most other guns.
I like to have at least 5 mags for each gun. I can buy 5 Glock mags for the price of two HK mags. I have one striker fire pistol that the extra mags are $48 each.

My PPQ choice was based upon trigger dynamics, ergonomics, and reasonably good sights. I always wanted a P99 AS, but Walther moved production over to the PPQ and I found a deal on one. I may have to try the Canik TP9 DA to see if the SA/DA striker is well executed.

The last time I looked, H&K P7 M8 magazines were over $100 each.

In their defense, I've never seen a P7 magazine wear out (spread lips, cracked body or baseplate)...I even remember a video of one functioning after being run over, on gravel, by a truck
