Edit to add: So I'm going to have to update this thread when I get some time to go shoot, because I'm starting to wonder if my ETS magazines that per the title of the thread were not to be trustworthy for carry mags might be good to go. I'm not sure if it's possible but I'm starting to think maybe the Wolf Poly 9mm I was using in them may be slightly out of spec because I went to the range with my Glock yesterday and the same problem occurred with my Magpul Glock mags, where I fire a few rounds and the "click", pull the slide back to reveal that the cartridges are stuck in the mag.
. I have never, ever, had this problem before but it appears that with my ETS and Magpul magazines this particular case of Wolf is getting stopped up in relatively new, good condition mags that haven't seen a ton of use so as to blame the springs, especially now having it happen with two separate manufacturer mags.
I will also add that this just goes to show, and remind me, that you should really only trust OEM's that have been function tested with whatever ammo you carry. Not that I carry Wolf for EDC, but still. I would caution against the use of aftermarket mags for carry or even back up. Up to this point, I had full confidence in my Magpul magazines and will test this lot of ammo through my Glock mags next and if the same thing occurs. I'm going to blame the ammo. One difference between the ETS and Magpul mags is with the ETS mags, once the rounds jammed in the mag body, they wouldn't free up for love or money, I had to very violently smack them repeatedly to get them free to fall out of the mouth of the mag. The Magpul's however, I could just feel something was off after firing a couple rounds, so I popped the mag out and sure enough the next bullet at the top of the stack failed to move up but I was able to just shake the mag to make it wriggle free and move up into position against the feed lips, which the ETS mags would not do.
Not sure if it's a bad run of out of spec ammo, although it chambered, fired and ejected just fine, just strange to have these separate problems with mags that were otherwise good to go. I will update as soon as I try some of this same lot in my OEM mags as well as run some other brass cased ammo through the ETS and Magpuls to further isolate and narrow down the possibilities. I never had problems with my ETS mags before, and have used the magpuls for years with no issue, so it's a lil puzzling but I had brought 5 relatively new magpul 15rd glock mags and every single one did the same thing. I am also pretty sure all I had ever run through them before was ammo from this lot of wolf...... Will update.
