On a related note Target's profits were down 90%, so the economy might be effecting many industries
Why would they when an M1A can be had in a CA legal configuration? The 7615 doesn't offer anything my M1A can't provide.Only slightly on topic, but with every passing year I become more perplexed why Remington or some competitor hasn’t resurrected the 7615 carbine for the ban state market. Especially for CA where an AR can’t have a detachable magazine.
Sure it does. It offers the ability to use cheap AR mags and shoot 223 ammo. Plus it was about 1/2 the cost. I have an M1A and it’s a chunky beast compared to a 223 platform. Why would they when an M1A can be had in a CA legal configuration? The 7615 doesn't offer anything my M1A can't provide.

Maybe. I hope though that the market is going to remain about the same for those of us that aren't at either end of that spectrum. I'm 74, and can't even see "4th, 5th or 6th gun," much less being a "new gun owner" in my rearview mirror anymore.I think there is still a good market for new gun owners, but I think the market for people buying their 4th, 5th, 6th, gun is going to be very soft in the not too distant future.
It wouldn’t be half the cost of an AR if resurrected. I’d bet a solid amount that it would be double the cost of an M&P-15 in the current market. There’s a reason it died on the vine the first time and that’s because it wasn’t popular.Sure it does. It offers the ability to use cheap AR mags and shoot 223 ammo. Plus it was about 1/2 the cost. Does Target sell firearms?
Half the cost of an M1A, not an AR. And I realize it wasn’t popular, but that was before so many states passed “assault weapon” bans. It was a product ahead of its time.It wouldn’t be half the cost of an AR if resurrected. I’d bet a solid amount that it would be double the cost of an M&P-15 in the current market. Look at what they sell for on GunBroker now.

This is my thoughts exactly. I own a ‘64 Mk I, Blackhawk, Charger pistols in .22 & 9mm, two American bolt actions and a Mini 14. Glad I bought the last few a few years before their price jump. Ruger is still a solid brand but not the bargain it used to be. When a $440 rifle jumps to $660 overnight you’re gonna look twice at other brands. I don’t think sales are slowing with other brands.Well gee Ruger I wonder why, could it be the item that your company makes went from $800 to $1200 over night? That was the one product I was looking at, how many others are there.
