Quick Question on Holster Rig

Now you're being disgusting and I sincerely mean that.

Either way he's talking about using the same belt with a 60 pound weight difference. I can't do that.
the rail was on sale for $100, had to do it

it’s called Modernity people! Old & New
I wouldn't call it that.

Everybody carries their extra weight differently. Most of mine is above the belt. That said, I have gone from 42 pants to shopping for 36's. Doubt I'll ever go smaller than that. ;)

42 to 36! congratulations!

I’m hoping to be back to 33 or even 32

Like I said, 12-14wks is not bad and it will probably be shorter than that. I know of one maker that is well over a year. Plus their prices are very competitive. You can pay as much for off the shelf crap that's half as good.
Last 2 holsters I bought from EPS were to me in about 6 weeks.

It's still a JM Marlin. It didn't do anything to deserve that.
you are 100% right, it’s actually one of my favorite rifles. I’ll put it back to original.

I’ll just pick a Ruger Marlin 336, and have fun with that

“So a question on your holsters - are you going with 2 strong side holsters (1 right hand holster and 1 left hand holster) or a strong side and a cross draw holster?”

don’t know yet! I do like cross draw, feel right but I don’t want all that weigh on the left size. Mabey 2 cross draw! would be cool

With a 7.5" I'd always go crossdraw. Much easier to pull than a strong side set up. Short barrel = strong side.

Don't forget "cavalry draw." The cavalry, by regulation, would carry their 7½" revolvers on the right side, butt forward. They could then be drawn by either hand. Drawing by the left would be crossdraw, and drawing by the right hand would be with a sort of twisting motion. (The complicating factor is that the saber would be carried on the left, and, if drawn, would be held in the right hand.)

Congrats on the Tisas. I want one but I want the army model. My LGS can't keep them in stock. At least not when I have money. That 73 isn't bad. Not nearly as bad as what you did to that poor innocent little Marlin.:D I'd have to cut the end off of the cylinder pin so it would fit right tho.

you talking about the green tone Army model? I’m looking for one too. My LGS had the Special Service model for $299 and I could not resist

No it's not green, it's parkerized. It has the correct hammer spur, rounded front sight, arched mainspring housing, lanyard ring and flush mount magazine. The only thing I don't like about it is the ejection port is lowered but at least it's not flared.

I like that one too!

Since this is the black powder forum, is there any chance black powder could be mentioned occasionally.

The last several pages of this are quite annoying for any who come here to discuss black powder shooting be it muzzle loader, percussion, or cartridge.
