Only thirteen years as a member but I have tried to stay patient and calm. I've been slapped by a couple of arrogant folks, wrongly by the way. No retaliation on my part. High road, don't you know.
I just put my first person on ignore. After a year.
I taught high school for eight years and was a machine shop foreman for many more. Some folks, a minority to be sure, cannot process information without a nonsensical response, more often than not ill conceived.
When you ask for input or an opinion, consider what you have been given before dismissing it if it doesn't match what you wanted to see.
Wait a few minutes, or hours, before hitting "respond".
One in thirteen years. I guess that is good.
I love it here. 99 44/100% of the people are great. Open. Accepting. Learning. I sure learn a lot.
Semi-rant done. Love your neighbor as yourself.

Well we're glad to have ya here, I haven't had to ignore anyone yet but if I do it would take a lot of nonsense to get me there . all the best , keep on keeping on.

I have 2 on ignore myself. I generally will respect opinions of folks here but have had to bite down on some myself. I also hang out on another forum that's populated by some really opinionated people that make me question IQs. Needless to say I'm not there much.

Bet I can guess which that one is. "fire".

There are always going to be people who struggle with polite responses. Sometimes it is unintentional as a written response, especially on a website where you are condensing a response to briefly make a point, can be misinterpreted. Fortunately, the muzzleloading/black powder crowd seems to draw people with a better standard of behavior than is typical of our current culture(or lack thereof).

Interesting. That is where my subject dwells.
I have no personal animosity toward him or anyone else. I just hate wasting time going through post after post when he has obviously either not read, understood or accepted answers he requested. Kind of like AOC. Argue or ramble until you hear what you want.

I got ignored by someone because I said a .45-70 would "knock down" a buffalo. I don't remember who that was/is.

Anyhow PaPa, hope it wasn't me either. I do ramble on due to my keyboard speed.

I've thought about ignoring Driftwood Johnson, because he keeps posting that picture of his .44 Colt. DANG! If I win the lottery, I'm going to buy that thing from him at any price.

JUST KIDDING!!! :) :)
Well, since your talking about his 44 colt, let's draw @Driftwood Johnson into this conversation... :D

Plonking someone is counterproductive. It means that, going forward, they can say anything they want without fear of contradiction by you. "Ignoring" or "plonking" is not the same as "banning." Leave it to the moderators to ban someone who gets completely out of hand.

I don't want to tick off Ugly Sauce, so instead of posting a photo of my Colt Richards Conversion, here is a photo of my Savage North Navy Revolver.

Wow, that is very cool, and unique to say the very least. However, thank you, does not keep me awake at night thinking about selling all my guns, cars, motorcycles and sailboat in order to make you an offer on the Colt Richards. I feel better now. Maybe I should just move a replica Richard's Conversion to the top of my gun wish list. !!! It would however, have to be in .44 Colt, I'm not sure if any of the replicas are in anything except .45 Colt. ? I suppose a percussion cylinder could be converted fairly easily. (why not .45 Colt? Just "because")

Papa, whoever tried your patience must have really...tried your patience. As mentioned, I've been ignored for saying the "Trapdoor" .45-70 will knock down a buffalo. Now I'm not sure why the person (I have no memory of who) didn't just ignore me in the first place, instead of arguing my choice of words, and arguing about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, rather than just saying the .45-70 will "kill" a buffalo. !!!! I mean, I think it was obvious as to what I meant. Oh well. Dang...I just done rambled on.

I suppose there is truth to that. I'm not exactly clear on the details of how the "ignore" button works. I had a bad experience with someone lately, and kind of wonder about that, or how much behind the scenes PMing goes on. I guess one just has to have faith in people's better judgement and sense of fairness.
