I'm thinking the best of these would be a makarov. I have no experience with these small auto's but I want a small autopistol capable of ccw and I want it to be reliable, and surplus/cheap.

So what I'm thinking is I want a cz-82, P-64, or a makarov. I really want a gun glock 19/23 size, maybe a little smaller; but thinner. Wich is most like that?

I don't own a Mak but I've never heard anything but glowing reviews. Some my suggest that the 380 is a bit under powered for defensive purposes though (not me).

My vote is for the CZ-82, if you really want surplus. If you just want a gun that's inexpensive and reliable, you could probably find a used, commercial pocket pistol around for about the same price.

For example, there's a used KelTec P-3AT listed here for $229. I've had great luck with mine.

I wouldn't think the slim P64 would make a poor choice for carry. I would place it right there with the snubnose.

Several good surplus miliary guns out there that make good carry guns.

Mak, Sig P6, CZ, Argentine High Powers, P7s (they are expensive!), etc...

Just make sure they can shoot something other than FMJ ball.

Another vote for the cz-82. 13 rounds, good trigger, can carry condition 1 or 2, reliable.

For me, the Mak is borderline at best for potency, but they are really good guns. If there are practical reasons that make it necessary to have a small gun or a backup gun, I would steer people towards them. Tough as nails, dead reliable, and I wouldn't be afraid to use Wolf for practice ammo.

I've used the P-64 for quite a while. I know a lot of other guys who carry it as well. I'd probably still be carrying, but I transitioned it over to the wife. Now she has it.

I am a surplus weapon fan, I have 2 CZ82's, a PA 63 and a Polish P64 all of which shoot the same round as the Mak pistols, the 9x18.

All have their good and not so good points, but I will carry any of them with confidence.

sprice, If you want something thin for CC then I would recommend the P64, especially if you have a C&R license (since it can be shipped directly to you). The P64 is much slimmer than the CZ82 (though still heavy for its size). It's accurate, reliable, small and has a good following/source of support on the web should you run into any troubles.

The CZ 82 is a more modern gun and much easier on the hand to shoot, however it's a little bulky for CC. If you don't mind the thickness, the CZ is the way to go.

then take you cheap pennies and go buy a KT PF9.....

or try finding a mak, p64 p63, or
any of the European .32, wait, those aren't cheap.

Another vote for the cz-82. 13 rounds, good trigger, can carry condition 1 or 2, reliable.

^^ :)

I ordered a CZ82 yesterday from AIM surplus. Can't wait to try it out.

It's a hell of a pistol....Especially for 2 and a quarter....They're not the prettiest but once smoke rolls out the muzzle and the center of your target disappears you'll forget about that!

Enjoy....It's a damn good buy! ;)

My CCW is the CZ-82 with spare mag. I have carried as big as the Ruger P89 and P90 pistols down to the little S&W Model 36. The CZ-82 beats them all for comfort of carry,concealability,fire-power(13rds).

Right now I'd snap up an HK P7 German police surplus. The CZ-82 is also a good choice currently. There were a bunch of Sig P-6's, but I don't know if they are still widely available or not.

cz 82 accurate & reliable. it was one of the best deals i have ever found. $155 at a gun show. mine had alot of finish wear but it sure does shoot well. nice trigger & you can carry her condition 1.
