Looking for something unique, something with style..

Walther PPK because it was good enough for James Bond. And they don't come any cooler than that.... :D

Although I have to admit that I saw a lot of very slick looking guns that I'll never be able to own myself as I looked down through this thread. Those Sig P239's and the Springfield EMP are especially drool worthy.

OK, I don't get it. Its concealed, No one should see it. What difference does how classy something is if no one ever sees it?

It still needs to come out from time to time for practice, no? And when it does then it can't hurt if it looks so good that the other shooters around you "oooooo" and "awwwww" a little.... But most of all if it makes YOU smile when you see and hold it then where's the harm? Life is too short to shoot "adequite" guns when there is stuff that works just as well and does it with style :D

Besides, if they are just tools then why would we not all just shoot Hi Points and be done with it?

Tthe EMP's are cool. I've really started looking at some of the commander sized bobtailed 1911's. Dan Wesson and Kimber make some really nice looking one's.These are a bit "salty" at around 1500$ but definetly "cool"

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I really do appreciate it. I read a few responses questioning why I need to show off something thats meant to be concealed.. and in all honesty it won't happen very much. One person nailed it on the head when the said "pride of ownership". Most of the people in my circle of friends and family are shooters, and most of them are CPL holders... so when I do make a purchase, every one is going to want to see what I have, why I picked it, etc.

I like the idea of a Makarov or Sig P232, those are both firearms that I like but haven't had much experience with. As far as the EMP goes, it is definitely an excellent choice, but just not quite what I'm looking for. I rented one not too long ago and had a great experience with it. This thread sort of stalled out, and it's partly my fault for not coming back to check on it, but I really would like some more ideas. I am truely open to discussing almost anything so don't be shy... and as previously stated, I'd love to see pictures along with suggestions! thanks again!

A compact will give you a fighting chance where a subcompact may let you down. My CCW of choice is a CZ PCR or a SIG RCS 1911 with barrels in the 4" range. Sometimes I carry a SIG P238 but It is not my first choice, it is better than a sharpened stick. Many mouse guns are more useless than the stick. P232 is a great choice, one of my 6 SIG pistols.

SOG, JGsales, and others currently have unissued Bulgarian makarovs for like $230. If you have ever wanted one, now is the time. My Bulgy (from SOG) was 100% once I cleaned the 10lbs of cosmoline off it.

Has anyone mentioned the CZ-82 as a possible carry choice? It's not as compact as a makarov, but it's still easily carried with a good belt and holster (it's about the size of a G19). The cool thing about them to me is how shootable they are. Comfortable to fire, EXCELLENT triggers. I think I can still shoot my CZ-82 better than anything else I own, including my 1911's.

The HK P7PSP, or P7M8 can't be beat. Fixed 4" barrel, squeeze cocker that is unlike anything else on the market. I carry the P7PSP frequently and have enjoyed shooting it for quite a few years. I also like Kahr's product line. The PM9 is about as small as a 9mm gets and has a DAO trigger that can't be beat.

When someone mentions classy and unique, there is only one choice IMO....so another vote for the hk p-7 guns. Very accurate, wonderful trigger, safe....

Don't buy a specific handgun just because you think others will be impressed with it....buy a handgun that you are accurate with.

This Ruger SR9c will probably not impress your friends.

That is until they shoot it. ;)

"...that I can show off a little...reliability and functionality."

I think those words perfectly fit a nice Heirloom Precision Browning High Power. Mine is the most accurate pistol I own and it functions flawlessly with everything I feed it. Not bad looking, either.

Ditto the Hi-Power. That last one looks an awful lot like mine that was customized by Jim Garthwaite -- is it? When I show up in shooting classes with mine I am always the only one. In the last class I attended with that pistol the instructor even singled it out among the plastic stuff on the line. On top of that, it's high-capacity, it always works and it feels outstanding in the hand.
