How many of you carry at work ?

Yes I carry and work for myself. I also carried when I worked for companies when I felt the need. They all had 'rules' against it but they didn't know what was hidden in my pocket or ankle. I only had me to look after when working late and some company could care less if something happened to me when walking a parking lot at night. It is hard to be there for family if something happens to me because of some dopehead criminal.

Nope, company forbids weapons on company property. Supposedly that includes the parking lot, but I'm not even sure that is enforceable in this state.

Either way, I still have my EDC knife and my cane.

The company forbids "weapons". This is profoundly silly since its a factory -- within arms reach of any given workstation you will find at least one, probably half a dozen items which one could use as a weapon.

Its even sillier after the policy did nothing to prevent one of the supervisors from being beaten into the ICU by an angry, just-fired guy who was within arm's reach of a metal bar.

I own the micro-compact, MPA Protector for a reason. If I ever need to reveal it I will have more to worry about than being fired and don't want to be limited to a choice between my thread snips, a steel yardstick, and a boxcutter as a means of self-defense.

I am the service manager for a small fire alarm company. Along with running the crew and providing tech support to everyone, I am responsible for meeting the needs of our four largest customers, and all four of them have a no firearm policy. I do not carry at work.

Sigh. Federal contractor on a .mil secure facility, I can't even have it in the car.
More or less in the same boat minus the contractor part. Then again, I'm not sure I would trust the maturity of my coworkers enough to handle firearms in such a sensitive setting.

No firearms at work, we aren't supposed to have knives either but almost all of us carry a pocket knife and a gerber/leatherman. Also in Ohio you aren't supposed to carry if a place of business says not to on their entry way....but they can't search you either so work no, everywhere else that isn't a government building....yes.(Once i can afford one I mean :p)

I require every employee to carry a loaded firearm while on the clock for company business. Open or concealed is their choice, but they, as well as my company security personnel are armed.

Luckily my boss is a gun guy and likes that I carry in our office since both his daughters work here. I usually have a .380 on the ankle and Kahr .45 IWB or in my desk drawer.

I pastor a church up here in WI, and teach self defense and Basic Pistol. Got my permit last month and haven't gone a day without 1,2,3 guns. Making up for lost time...

I carry every day. Officially, my company has a no guns policy, but I unofficially, as long as you can qualify for a license, they don't have a problem with it. That being said, I never really asked myself, that was from a conversation between two of the execs. As long as its legal, I'm armed.

You're carrying three guns at a time?

Nobody's ever patted me down at the Post Office.

Good news in Massachusetts:

From pages 380 and 381 of the (Massachusetts) Law Enforcement Guide to Firearms Law, published by Chief Ron Glidden and Atty. John Collins. This publication is used to train police officers at the Massachusetts State Police Academy

Concealed Carry in a Post Office

18 U.S.C. §930 Possession of Firearms and Dangerous Weapons in Federal Facilities

(a) Except as provided in subsection (d), whoever knowingly possesses or causes to be present a firearm or other dangerous weapon in a Federal facility (other than a Federal court facility), or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.

(d) Subsection (a) shall not apply to –
(1) the lawful performance of official duties by an officer, agent, or employee of the United
States, a State, or a political subdivision thereof, who is authorized by law to engage in or
supervise the prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of any violation of law;
(2) the possession of a firearm or other dangerous weapon by a Federal official or a member of the Armed Forces if such possession is authorized by law; or
(3) the lawful carrying of firearms or other dangerous weapons in a Federal facility incident to hunting or other lawful purposes.

Chief Ron Glidden, head of the Massachusetts Association of Police Chiefs, has advised that part "3" of exception "d" allows concealed carry in Post Offices within Massachusetts by Class A LTC holders, under "other lawful purposes."

I'm a firefighter and firearms are forbidden in the station house, as they are all city property here. :-(

Every day. I walk right past the sign on the door warning that it is a felony to bring weapons into that facility like it wasn't even there. ;)

Our office is in a rough area of town. Pepper spray in most every office, several employees carry every day. If I work late I have my suppressed SBR at my desk.

We have had homeless come in uninvited. They decided to leave rather fast.
