Im just curious how many of you carry a firearm of some sort at work, i know after the riots, occupying anarchists and the bomb threat at my work getting a concealed carry cant come soon enough.

I carry every day at work, so do the guys I work with. Actually we have guns waiting for us when we get to work. We even have access to additional weapons if the circumstances require them.

I'm the boss and I carry a firearm of some sort every day. The only employee of mine to ask if he could carry was given permission to do so, but I have no idea if he does or not. He's brought a few rifles, handguns and shotguns to work though... for 'show & tell' of course (this is company policy).

One of my jobs has policy against any type of weapon (including pocket knives!) On the premises. My other job, my boss allows me to keep it on me, but prefers if I keep it in my bag. I repect his wishes, but my bag is never more than 5 feet away from me. Keeps us both happy.

Coromo,
If thats company policy are you hiring?

My current employer does not allow it, nor does the building owner. Not even in the parking lot.
This thread reminds me I need to find a job where my degree pays off.

I too am self employed but,

I have to go into peoples houses all the time and yes, I do carry all the time. I will soon be working as a sub-contractor for a company that does not allow guns on their job-sites. I am O.K. with not carrying on the job but I am not O.K. with not being allowed to keep one in my vehicle. Maine has just passed a law which says that employers cannot restrict a persons right to keep a gun in their car if they a have a CWP.

Many years ago at a bi-state agency I worked for in a large metropolitan area that has near impossible gun laws, I spoke to a two of the rare civilians that managed to get carry permits and warned them to "keep it down" that they had permits because if anyone other than those that had that privilege found out, a memo would be generated before days end killing their fun.

They didn't and it was.

Now that I am retired and do a mimimal amount of side work where I live, yes, I do carry at work and

I've carried at work every day since my second day of work there. The first day, I read the employee's handbook, and nothing about weapons was mentioned so...

I work from home, and am self employed. I carry most of the time. Visiting customers and such is no big deal.

I know that it's frowned upon here, but there's nothing official written in any of the company policies, so I do.

I don't actually have the gun on my person at work due to the nature of my work, but I am allowed to have a gun there. My boss - who, as the owner, has no one to answer to or overrule him - has a HCP and keeps one.

I work in an environment where it would be physically uncomfortable to carry at work; too much crawling around on machines. And I wouldn't leave it unattended in my desk.

There's always something in the truck though.

I carry everyday. I unlock the doors at six thirty in the morning and close them at 4 in the afternoon. I have one co worker that gets to work at the same time I do. We took the CWP class together and he carrys everyday also. Our Boss Lady knows it and does not mind a bit.

Well,I know this isn't really "work",but I guess you could say I'm restricted by policy as well in a away. I have a feeling if I brought a gun onto school campus they wouldn't let me back anytime soon...
