Just curious how many people have places of employment that allow the carrying of firearms or having firearms on company property.

Sitting in drawer right now Glock 21 in a inside the pants holster.

I carry at work every day. I don't think the boss knows, but he might. There's nothing in the employee handbook or anything else about it, and I'm not about to go asking around.

I'm now retired but I used to work for the state of Minnesota. I doubt that any state gov't employee (of any state) can legally carry on the job..... unless your the State Hwy Patrol.

No carry at work, but allowed to leave it in the vehicle.

Company is a defense contractor, very strict about security policies. Especially concerning weapons, foreign nationals, and recording equipment.

Like Bottom Shelf, I can't find anything in the employee handbook and nothing is posted at the entrance, so I carry everyday.
Although when I took a late lunch to go to the sheriffs dept for my CHL permit appt, I mentioned to my manager what I was doing and he said "just don't bring it to work" so I don't think carrying is liked. But since I can't find anything in writing I carry and keep quiet about it as one should. That may just have been my managers opinion.

I carried every day at my former job. I used to work till late and I was the only person at work in a somewhat remote industrial area. There was several things noted in policy about NOT carrying but...I did it anyway. My office assistant gal at work knew but nobody else did. She and I are good friends. She gave me a hug one day and discovered my pistol. She smiled and said that she always assumed I carried a pistol but never asked. She was fine with it and I wasn't worried about her knowing. She was very good about keeping it quiet. She said that it made her feel comfortable knowing that if something went wrong she could run for my office.

Now that I work for myself, my boss DEMANDS that I carry everyday. He expects that I will carry openly and often commends me on my selection of handguns. ;) He even allows me some money occasionally to buy new guns and gear to wear at work. It is important to him that I have the best gear to show off around work.

Cheers
Mac.

My company specifically forbids it. I have been there 32 years and I have a pretty good relationship with the owner, so I bought him a beer one evening after work and asked him about it. He said it was driven by our liability insurance. If I were to use my firearm in self defense while on company time, the company can be held liable.

^^^And this is the reason for the majority of companies not allowing employees to carry at work. Lawsuits.

I work for an electrical contractor, and there are at least seven of us there who have our CHL, including the boss. I bought my Kel Tec PF-9 specifically for carry at work, as I needed something smaller and more discreet than a double-stack pistol while working around customers.

So, that's a yes. I carry at work.

I carry and so does my boss, the owner didn't use to allow it at his other company. Me and my boss are so good at fixing his customers cars and equipment that he doesn't mind. Maybe we make to much money for him? Anyway he doesn't seem to mind.

I work in a courthouse. The sworn ADA's can carry, but technically they are required (by office policy) to secure their weapons in a safe in their office. No one checks to see that this is done, and no laws are broken if they don't.

I'm still an unpaid intern, and I have to go through the metal detectors everyday. No guns for me. Hopefully I will get hired and not have to walk unarmed through the parking lots with criminal defendants walking next to me. I'm sure nothing would ever happen, and there is a decent police presence, but it only takes one to hold a grudge...

Everyday/Everywhere

It took some convincing, but the boss here has officially permitted the bearing of any and all arms while on the job. Sawed-off shotguns, suppressed SBR's, SMG's, anything. Of course, I'm the boss, so it was an easy sell. Of my employees, only one salesman would be the type to carry, he has a permit, knows I carry, but he doesn't really ever do it.
