How many of you carry at work ?

Yes, everyday the past five years. During the cooler weather season I carry my Glock 23. When the weather is warmer I choose to pocket carry and went down to my Bodyguard 380 this year. Next summer I'm going to be pocket carrying my db9. A few people know I have a CPL including the GM and owner but they never ask if I carry and we don't have a company policy.

I carry daily my boss his father carry also. I drive a tanker, i go to brownsville, laredo and other border towns, so they
Insist i carry! Bonus we buy bulk ammo together, and other shtf items in bulk.

I live in IL so no cigar...yet at least. Plus my company has a no guns policy for other states, but I know that several high up guys in other states have said they carry, I'm not sure if they do at work or not. If IL gets a carry law, I'll be calling the owner.

Official company policy says absolutely no way no how... not to say it doesn't happen, but to get caught means not only instant termination but they can (and will) have you arrested and prosecuted. :cuss: This includes your vehicle and immediate surroundings... and the public thinks its a mighty fine thing, too...

And people wonder why I want to retire in another state???

Every day. When I started working there nobody owned a gun. Now all but one does (even the women...the one holdout is a guy). Several have gone on to get their carry permits, we've established a once a week shooting schedule, and several of the guys now own more than 5 guns each.

We frequently do group buys on ammo and gear. In the last year I bet we've purchased between us...100 guns. I know we've taken down 10k rounds of .223. Every Monday you'll see at least three big Midway range bags on peoples desks. If someone brought something new there's usually a show and tell session. Best of all everyone is extremely safety oriented. It's a very gun friendly place.

I do on occasion, never far away at any rate. Both my bosses actually took the CCW class that I help instruct & got permits. :)

I'm a government worker and state law forbids carrying inside a government building, so its a no-go for me. I would if I was legally able to though.

Strangly enough though, I don't think the people would actually care. Once while talking to my former boss (she retired about a year ago) I mentioned having to go get a package from the shipping office once and she suggested I have them routed to the office in the future so as to avoid the hassle. When I mentioned that it was a gun (C&R) she just said "Well then just don't open the box till you get home" :).

My current boss is a former competitive trap shooter - doesn't do that anymore but I do know that he still has a Hi Power 9mm that he shoots. I also know 2 other guys at work who reload and hunt. Another 2 coworkers (one male, one female) have CWP's and shoot recreationally. That's just in our little department of less than 20 people. One has even had reloading components shipping to work and sitting on his desk to inspect. It's a nice environment when a giant box of Hornady bullets sitting on one's desk doesn't even draw any strange questions :D.

When I'm running cases behind the walls at a state prison (which I do three days a week), I'm prohibited from carrying. But in my private practice (and when I'm out and about, for that matter), I always carry.

I'm a self-employed carpenter...I carry concealed all the time when I'm working and have no reason to discuss it with my customers.

Carpenters always have tools on their belts. :D

Where I work it's a cause for instant termination to be caught with a gun on company property. They've gone so far as to search private vehicles parked on company property during hunting season if you had any idea of getting out after work.

LCP in the pocket ALWAYS and backup with either a Colt Commander XSE or a Smith M&P40c
Isn't that backwards? Aren't the Commander and the M&P your primaries with the LCP as your back-up? :scrutiny:

I have a gun provided for me but I don't think bringing my own would be a problem. I plan on picking up a snubnose revolver for this purpose.

My old crappy job, everyone "knew" I carried, but very few actually knew. My new Jjob had prohibited weapons. I wonder if my kabar TDI can be considered a "seatbelt cutter"

I am not allowed to carry on the job. This is a real bummer since I work in the woods, an encounter with a dangerous animal is a very real possibility for me since I am typically well off the beaten path, and I have had an angry land owner aproach me in a confrontational way with a shotgun in hand. :scrutiny:

That was real fear. I've never felt my stomach twist up like that before. If I had had a gun though, I think things would have really escalated fast. As in one of us would have been hurt or dead. As it turns out, I didn't back down since I was in the right, and he was slapped with a fine from law enforcement. Scarry as hell though.

I wish I could, but I work on a military facility. And yes that sucks, if I go anywhere afterwork I don't have it on me unless I go home miles out of the way to get it. I am still not use to it, and will most likley never will!

I carry 23.999/6.999

My workplace permits it. Business occasionally takes me to a government building where I disarm as the law requires, but beyond that if I'm wearing pants I'm wearing a gun.
