Carry at work?

Yes, all day, every day. I am the owner, and have elected to omit any reference in handbook.

I have employees that purse-carry and lock them up at work, but if I saw someone print a little I would just smile inside.

My government contracts stipulate that I can't carry at work. I do however, get to use a very secure parking lot and leave it in my vehicle. Other than that, I carry everyday, everywhere (where and when it is legal, anyway...NC has some silly laws).

I work in a courthouse. ...I'm sure nothing would ever happen, and there is a decent police presence, but it only takes one to hold a grudge...

It does happen from time to time. When it does happen, it is can get really bad, really quick. It pays to be aware of your surroundings...armed or otherwise.

The company policy here is it's a fireable offense to carry, and that extends to your private vehicle if it's parked on company property.

My boss asked me to carry at work he even asked me to open carry a 1911 one time but I said it was better off having people not knowing I was packing.

When I used to work for a small pizza shop, I carried every day. So did the owner/manager. He had his 1911, and I had my P99. Quite the clash lol. None of the other drivers did though. Once I stopped working there, I went into armed security so that doesn't really count.

My work prohibits weapons on company property. Not sure if that covers the parking lot of the building we have a leased office at.

I'm in Illinois so it's rather pointless to worry about it at this point. If/when IL does get CC or OC it'd be nice to carry while on my lunch breaks. I work graveyard shift and I like to go out on walks in the middle of the night.

I carry everyday. In fact, the boss supplies the weapons...and a badge...so I suppose the question doesn't really pertain to me huh

I can't carry at work, company policy, but am allowed to leave in my truck.

I carried every day before I was laid off. Of course my predecessor had been fired for stealing in excess of $300,000, had previously threatened my boss and broke into the office to steal evidence against him after being fired. My boss was MORE than happy to have me carry, and enlisted my aid in picking out a handgun for himself.

I don't CC, but just on a guess I checked my company's handbook. Not Allowed.

Pretty much, if you work for any corporation and not a small time business, its not gonna work out.

We only have a clause in the safety section of the employee handbook that stated dangerous items are not allowed in the workplace and listed firearms as an example.

That said the former personal manager and the production manager have both brought in guns to show off on numerous occasions. And the owner is big time into hunting and fishing. So when I broached the issue of CCW with the personal manager he showed me his permit, and offered to be a reference for me on my application. He told me everything was copacetic at work as long as I left it in my car and didn't talk about it.

Fast forward 5 years and we've got a guy on the factory floor who for some reason feels the need to tell everybody how many AKs he's got and that people better not mess with him because he keeps a Glock in his car.

We now have a new personal manager who is a total yes-man to the owners and several people have complained about Mr. Glock in the truck... who does not convey the aura of a sound mental condition.

Guess what's coming... major re-write of the employee handbook! And yup.. all firearms will be banned from the premises, to include your POV.

It only takes one idiot.

I carry now , as part of my job (LEO) so that does not count , but in previous jobs , I have carried unless expressly prohibited by written policy.

I have a brother who works for a medical supply company, and from my associations with him and his co-workers , I know that on his own shift a vast majority of the people do carry. company policy states that they cant bring it inside but locking it in a car is acceptable

I pocket carry a p3at every day at work. The employee handbook has nothing about guns/weapons in it. However if you search our company network you will find that they apparently have a policy of no firearms or knives on company property. I didnt know this until i had been there several years, as it is in none of the handbooks.
My boss knows, and is fine with it. He and several others at work keep firearms in their vehicles.

I carry if I choose to. Workers may with my personal permission on a case by case basis.

Yup. I carry every day but I work for myself at home so that's no big deal. Funny thing is, I used to OC, but I get frequent visits from UPS and FedEx so I actually carry concealed most of the time now.

One of my jobs specifically prohibited carry (college prof). The other one didn't address the matter at all, so I carried (convenience store clerk).

Not only do I carry at work but they require us to as well as getting our CCW permit before applying for employment. The boss said it saves him a background check fee.

Not allowed. I hate it, but make 50K a year on a high-school education, not too many jobs in the area paying that...
