Anyone ordered from Brownells lately

I haven't ordered from Brownells lately but want to give a +1 to Midway. I have placed two orders with them during that last few weeks and all have been received within 5-6 days.

I ordered a couple of parts on Friday the 28th and got an email yesterday saying that it had shipped.

I just got 10 AR Mags delivered from Brownell's. They took about 2 weeks to get here. When I ordered it said they were in stock but the next day I got an email saying they were on backorder (I wasn't surprised). But amazingly a few days later they sent an email saying it had shipped.

I've been impressed with how both Brownells and Midway have performed since the rush began.

I had a three day delay between order confirmation and shipping notice from Sinclair on some items.

Same thing happened to me also but I canceled them. Didn't want to wait unknowingly when they would get some in.

I'm still waiting for an order I placed 12/17 to ship. I finally got through by phone yesterday and they said it should ship 'today.' However, the order status is still 'is being picked.'

MidwayUSA has always shipped the next business day for me.

I love Brownells although I haven't placed an order with them since the panic buying started. Midway has always surprised me by shipping backordered items weeks before the listed in-stock date. My only complaint with Midway is their multiple hazmat fees when ordering powder and primers at the same time.

But both are great companies with long histories of excellent customer service.

One thing to keep in mind is that both Brownell's and Midway will put more effort into getting things shipped than in keeping their website status up to date. That is as it should be.

I remember getting an email from Midway once that said "shipped" the same day I received the order. I don't remember the details now, but it was during one of the "order now, before the world ends" times.

I placed and order for something in stock 12/20/12 and it still shows a being picked. I called last Friday and the young lady I spoke to told me they was just plain slammed and said look right after the 1st for it to straighten out. I might add she did offer me the opportunity to cancel the order but decided not to as it is an item I wasn't in a rush on to begin with.

Brownells and Midway have both been great for what they have in stock. Kudos. Just about all magazines and anything AR is out of stock, but they seem to be holding up well under the strain of the panic.

CDNN clearly could not deal with it.

I ordered 3-4 days ago from Brownells and already received confirmation of shipping.

ordered after hours on 12/20, email saying stuff is shipping on 12/21, had it in my hands on 12/27... not bad in my eyes with the weekend and Christmas being in the way.

Both Brownells and Midwayusa are good in my books, I just order from the one with better pricing for what I am looking for... needless to say, both gets lots of my money...

Not bad considering the holidays.

I ordered from Brownells a couple weeks ago and had the items in a week. One item was back ordered but I had that item too a few days later...

I ordered some Mag's listed as in-stock. That's been two weeks ago. I'm getting a tad pissed.

If its not in stock then just so.

I just ordered a Williams sight for my Winchester from Brownell's online, but tried all day to get through on the phone. I think they had the phones off, nothing but busy signals.

Online order went smooth, item showed In Stock, so we'll see how long it takes to get here.

I ordered a MSH from Brownells, throughput time was about five working days. No complaints.

Hell no don't buy from them...
Ordered the day after Christmas for an in stock item... no tracking, no email reply, nobody answers the phone...ever...

edit: finally i was able to speak to someone after 15 phone calls, told that i still had to wait several weeks after 10 days of ordering.... So I canceled the order... The c/s rep was unwilling to cancel it at first.....

busy signal on the phone is absolutely unacceptable.. someone said they are the largest, why can't they just improve their customer service and shipping a bit?

I ordered on the 18th and haven't seen anything. I called around the new year and switched my order from FDE to black hoping that would expedite things. They said they would keep the price locked at the 12.50 and keep the free shipping special they were running that day. Thats good customer service in my book. Shame on me for not ordering sooner. Luckily I found some PMAGs locally to go with what I already have.

Ordered 15 (in-stock) AR mags on 12/18 from Brownells, delivered today. Given the massive amount of orders they dealt with, I have no complaints. Also had some mags from Armalite arrive today as well (order placed at the same time).

CDNN clearly could not deal with it.

Speaking of that, what happened to their online gun catalog? It's just vanished!
